On December 28, Walmart began selling pharmaceutical company Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine at several of its stores across the country. Javier Treviño, vice president of Walmart Mexico, announced how Mexicans can check which stores and times they can get vaccinated without having to make an appointment.
In an interview for the program “In the Times of the Radio,” he stated that the vaccine will cost 845 pesos and will be used in more than 130 pharmacies in Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter stores. From this Thursday, vaccination will begin in the Valley of Mexico and by the weekend in the 19 states of the Republic.
“We will welcome our customers as soon as they arrive. It is not necessary to make an appointment for the vaccination. The important thing is that they arrive at the branches and can be sure that they have trained staff,” he explained.
Two types of vaccines are used in the branches approved for vaccination: one for people over 12 years of age, with which they will be vaccinated as early as this Thursday, and another for small children aged 5 to 11, which will be available from January 4th.
How can I check the Walmart stores taking the COVID-19 vaccine?
Walmart’s vice president explained that people can consult the vaccination sites through the portal www.walmart.com.mx.
“There is a tab that says ‘Departments.’ You have to click on it and then go to ‘pharmacy’ to see the list of 131 stores in 19 states in this first phase,” he said.
In this section of the Walmart portal, Mexicans who want to get vaccinated against COVID-19 can consult the opening hours, the names of the stores and the exact address of the branches to avoid arriving in a place without vaccines.
