ReShade are special tools that allow you to add and personalize post-processing effects in games. The result of their use is often an improvement in graphics quality without a significant drop in the FPS number, as well as a change in the appearance of many productions. Version 6.0 of the tools has just been released. The most significant changes include additional support for ray tracing, mesh shading and games modified with NVIDIA RTX Remix.
The ReShade tools popular with gamers have received version 6.0. The changes are quite significant as some support for ray tracing and NVIDIA RTX Remix modded games has been added.
NVIDIA RTX Remix Creator Kit – Tools to easily remaster older games with an official release date
We had to wait quite a long time for version 6.0. Suffice it to say that version 5.0 came out about two years ago. However, changes in the latest version of ReShade justify this numbering. In practice they are quite revolutionary. So far, combining ReShade with RTGI (for example Marty McFly’s RTGI) has been able to achieve a similar effect to hardware ray tracing. However, this method did not utilize the potential of the RT cores present in modern graphics cards. The ReShade 6.0 changelog shows that this is now likely to change, at least to a limited extent.
RTX Remix is already breathing new life into older games. The effects can be really impressive
The latest update adapts ReShade to work with games modified with NVIDIA RTX Remix tools. Also added is support for localization (unfortunately, the Polish language version is not on the list yet), support for the OpenXR standard (used in AR and VR applications) and mesh shading, which allows the creation of geometrically complex scenes on modern Graphics allows maps. Version 6.0 also includes fixes for a number of errors that may occur when using ReShade in Resident Evil 3 Remake, Immortals of Aveum and some productions using OpenGL. The full list of changes can be found on the official ReShade forum.
