American engineers from the University of Pennsylvania have developed a new microchip that uses light waves instead of electricity for complex mathematical calculations. The study was published in the scientific journal Nature Photonics, Day.Az reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
According to the creators, the silicon photonic (SiPh) processor of their design was the first of its kind. It allows you to perform vector matrix multiplication – the main mathematical operation in the development and operation of neural networks that underlie artificial intelligence technologies.
The engineers clarified that they were able to achieve results due to the non-uniform thickness of the chip wafer, changing it within 150 nanometers in certain areas. This approach made it possible to control the scattering of light in specific patterns without adding other materials.
According to scientists, the device can carry out complex calculations almost at the speed of light. In addition, the processor architecture guarantees almost complete protection against hacking of systems based on it due to the fact that the chip does not need to upload confidential information into the computer’s working memory. This is achieved using parallel computing.
“No one can hack a non-existent memory to gain access to your information,” explained one of the authors of the development, Associate Professor Firuza Aflatuni.

The Vivo V30 SE brings seemingly modern design, Android 14 and a 50 MP main camera to the new market

Vivo has chosen a model almost Redmi vivo has opted for an almost Redmi-like complexity in the naming system of its new product across markets, as it now completes a trinity of identical devices with different names depending on the country where they are sold.
So while India has Y200eand that its European division has V40 SEvivo South America has been given its own name (a bit confusing) confusing) for this same smartphone.
The V30 SE actually have the same properties as “first smartphone in eco-fiber leather” from India, although it comes in the same diamond black and purple leather colors as the V40 SE.
Regardless of its name or finish, its reputation as a device with modern design is more or less confirmed by the fact that it has the following features table location to accompany its 6.67-inch FHD+ flat screen 120Hz AMOLED 6.67 inches. But again, just look at the “real Q30 to realize that SE has Last year from last year.
However, it still has an “Ultra HD imaging system” with a sensor on it 50MP and a 50-megapixel main sensor. In any case, the smartphone shares the budget Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 with their identical siblings.
Vivo has yet to state the price of the V30 SE with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage; for reference, it is now starting to €363.70 (~$389) as the 40 SE with the same specs elsewhere.
