Ponorogo – Not only Anies Baswedan, but also his deputy Muhaimin Iskandar visited Ponorogo. One of the agendas was a meeting with farmers in Polorejo village in Babadan district.
Vice presidential candidate number 01 even made a political deal with the farmers. The man, popularly known as Cak Imin, promises fertilizer, seeds and diesel fuel to keep crop prices stable.
“So far, farmers have never made a profit but instead suffered losses. We want AMIN (Anies-Muhaimin) to win, we will make farmers profitable. Everything is done, fertilizer, irrigation, diesel, seeds are available and that. “The price of the crop is stable,” said Cak Imin during the dialogue with residents on Saturday (December 30, 2023).
Cak Imin added that as a farmer you must be able to make profits and save in the future. Farmers’ decades-old problems must be solved.
“There is no need to think too long. We will take care of everything, the most important thing is that farmers work and produce enough national food and farmers can save, that is our political contract. In our 2.5 years at the helm, farmers must make a profit,” explained Cak Imin.
Cak Imin admitted that he often received complaints about fertilizers, irrigation, diesel fuel and unstable crop yields. Of course, this causes farmers to lose money. In his opinion, this problem cannot be ignored.
“It seems there has been neglect all along that farmers have to bear a burden to feed our food. That’s not fair, that’s what we’re changing. God willing, Amin will change it,” emphasized Cak Imin.
In addition, Cak Imin promised to buy all the farmers’ products. This is intended to ensure the stability of crop prices. In the next 2.5 years of the AMIN government, agriculture will emerge as a promising business and will be looked at again by the millennials.
“All the farmers’ production is bought by the government. God willing, we will do it in 2.5 years, AMIN. The government will make a profit and become a new company. Young people want to do business and become farmers, we will. “Give them capital,” he said.
Even if there were crop failures, Cak Imin continued, the government could provide compensation through insurance. The task of farmers is simply to plant fruitful crops and harvest abundantly to meet national food needs.
“Farmers who do not harvest receive compensation, their job is to produce a fruitful crop. It is (not) okay if farmers do not make a profit and produce as much as possible, the government is ready to accommodate that,” Imin concluded.
