CNN Contributor Geoff Duncan Chooses to Vote for Joe Biden Over Trump
Former Georgia Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan recently announced his decision to support President Joe Biden in the upcoming election, citing his belief that Donald Trump’s actions and character have rendered him unfit for office.
Reasons for Duncan's Decision
- Duncan, a lifelong GOP member, emphasized the importance of voting for decency over policy disagreements.
- He expressed his view that Trump does not align with the values of the Republican Party and is detrimental to its future.
- Duncan highlighted concerns about Trump's behavior and legal troubles, urging the party to move forward without him.
Opinion Piece in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution
In an op-ed titled "Why I'm voting for Biden and other Republicans should, too," Duncan outlined his rationale for breaking ranks with the GOP nominee. Despite acknowledging differences with Biden's policies, Duncan felt compelled to prioritize the party's long-term interests.
Criticism of Trump and GOP Members
Duncan criticized Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu, and former Attorney General Bill Barr for their continued support of Trump, calling it misguided and damaging to the party.
Georgia Election Controversy
Duncan, along with other Georgia GOP officials, opposed Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in the state, leading to a public rift within the party.
Focus on Reforming the GOP
Duncan's decision not to seek reelection in 2022 was driven by his desire to reform the Republican Party and distance it from the Trump era.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, Duncan emphasized the need for Republicans to move forward and prioritize the party's values over individual allegiances. His stance reflects a growing sentiment within the GOP to chart a new course post-Trump.

A complaint has been made that defects were found in a newly built apartment in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do, scheduled for move-in at the end of this month, including a warped exterior wall and warped walls. At the same time, Mr. A said: “There are an average of 150 defects in each unit, and a maximum of 200 defects, and the defects in common areas are prevalent. He added: “We conducted a preliminary inspection under these conditions” . and gave the residents an unforgettable surprise party.”
Netizens who saw this responded: “We should simply filter all the apartments under construction these days, whether they are luxury brands or generic brands, large or medium-sized construction companies”, “It is not surprising that there are defects in apartments now” and “This seems like the tip of the iceberg.”
An official from Hyundai Engineering, the builder of the apartment in question, said in a phone call to Chosun.com on the 7th: “It is possible to sufficiently repair the defects before moving in,” and added: “We are aware of the problem. “We will fix everything,” he said. He continued, “If you look at photos of the community, it looks like the entire apartment complex has a problem, but it’s actually just a small portion.”
Over the past five years, the number of bad rating reviews for apartment complexes by the top 20 construction companies in Korea has exceeded 10,000. According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, for the past five years, from January 2019 to February this year, the Defects Review and Dispute Mediation Committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (sub-trial) handled an average of 4,300 defective litigation cases per year.
