Apple Adjusts Vision Pro Shipment Forecasts
According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple has reduced orders for the Vision Pro even before its global launch. Sources indicate that Apple’s sales expectations for 2024 have been revised down to 400,000 to 450,000 units, significantly lower than the initial market estimates of 700,000 to 800,000 units. The demand for the $3,500 Vision Pro fell below the company’s projections.
Shift in Apple’s Headset Roadmap
Facing unexpected challenges, Apple is now reevaluating its headset roadmap, potentially delaying the release of a more affordable mixed reality headset beyond 2025. While the Vision Pro has impressed early adopters with its advanced technology, it has not been able to retain all of them beyond the return period.
Industry Implications
As a pioneer in new product markets, Apple’s performance with the Vision Pro could have ripple effects across the industry. Kuo suggests that the demand for specific VR and AR components, such as Micro OLED displays, may not reach the necessary adoption levels for widespread production in other devices.

Architecture for interreligious dialogue: the “Ritual/Materials” installation at the Biennale Tecnologia
Energy, sustainability, social inclusion, medicine, literature: there are many ways in which digital was interpreted during the days of Technology Biennial, on stage in Turin from 18 to 21 April. But the technology/humanity relationship has also been investigated through exhibitions and installations that last longeror. To the historian Valentino Castle, in the Green Room, the “Rituals/Materials” exhibition was inaugurated, which, through a dense sequence of projections and videos, explores the role of architecture in the construction of plural spaces that promote interreligious dialogue and the meeting between cultures.
The exhibition, until May 3, curated by Eleonora D’Alessandro, with Giulia Massenz and Daniele Campobenedettoaddresses a topic that is part of the heated debate relating to peaceful coexistence of urban communities.
“Contemporary cities are increasingly enlivened by the presence of different religions, cultures and languages - underlines the curator Eleonora D’Alessandro – which compose vibrant microcosms, reproducing the complexity of the modern world. Architecture, undoubtedly, plays a crucial role in manifesting religious diversity through buildings for worship that make the presence of religions evident in the urban landscape”.
The event Kicks off in Turin Biennale Tecnologia 2024, the exhibition that combines tech and humanity by the Italian Tech editorial team 26 March 2024
The House of One in Berlincurrently under construction and designed by the studio Kuehn Malvezzi is the example of inclusive architecture par excellence. The architecture of the future combines a synagogue, a church and a mosque under one roof. The one at its center will be a bright and high space for community and discussion, crowned by a central dome.
The multimedia approach through the works created by Kuehn Malvezzi, Armin Linke, Claudia Professione and Greta Valentinotti returns an installation site specific aimed at recounting the genesis and design process of the House of One, it invites the visitor to immerse themselves in the project and in the design process of the multi-faith building and therefore to open up to possible perspectives of ideal and physical coexistence.
Starting from technology as a corollary from which to start and to arrive at in the construction of inclusive and interconnected societies, the exhibition explores the link between architecture, religions and society in contemporary cities: “this approach – explains the curator – not only makes the content more accessible , but amplifies the message of inclusion and dialogue since the images and videos, projected on a wall of over four meters make it immediate to use without linguistic or cultural barriers”. The exhibition, supported by the CRT Foundation, the Department of Architecture and Design of the Polytechnic of Turin and the Inter-University Department of Sciences, Project and Territorial Policies of the Polytechnic of Turin and University of Turin, includes a broad program of collateral activities designed in collaboration with the Benvenuti in Italia Foundation, the Civic Libraries, the Network of Neighborhood Houses, and Orme Associazione Culturale, with the aim of stimulating an active debate in the area on the themes of dialogue and peace.
“The urban context of Turin has been a destination for migration for decades, with its long history of religious and cultural diversity – concludes Caterina Pignotti, who supported the logistical organization of the initiative and who is studying the impact of the project on the communities – moreover provides fertile ground making “Rituals/Materials” not just an exhibition, but a true platform to explore the transformative potential of architecture and the use of technology in promoting intercultural understanding and interreligious dialogue in the cities of the future.”
