On June 24, 2022, the United States Supreme Court overturned a federal ruling, Roe vs Wade, which since 1973 had guaranteed the right to abortion throughout the country, thus leaving each State the freedom to determine its own policy on access to voluntary termination of pregnancy (IVG).
Almost two years later, the Supreme Court examines, Wednesday April 24, 2024, the restrictive law of the State of Idaho which prohibits abortion, unless the life of the pregnant woman is at stake: the Biden administration l accused of violating a federal law on medical emergencies. The case is important because it could have an impact on all American hospitals, while abortion is a central issue in the American presidential election campaign.
In the country, around ten states (in dark red on the map below) have banned abortion, forcing clinics to close or move. This includes Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, which do not provide any exceptions in cases of rape or incest.
In Wyoming, Ohio and Montana, access to abortion is not prohibited, but is threatened (in red on the map). Texts aiming to prohibit or restrict it are contested in the courts.
On the other hand, in around ten states – including California, New York State and Washington – access has been extended. Professionals and patients are more protected. In other States, abortion remains authorized (in light blue on the map), without new specific legislation when the intervention has been restricted in six States (in yellow on the map), in particular, by reducing the legal period.

SLOVAKIA – You also used it TEMU online marketplace? In this case, you should sharpen your attention. The application faces serious charges. It is not only Slovaks who allegedly have money disappearing from their accounts, even when they have not bought anything.
The Temu online marketplace quickly gained popularity on the Slovak and Czech Internet. However, the massive advertising campaign is accompanied by doubts about the security of personal data. The latest tvnoviny.sk drew attention to the fact that several Slovaks reported that money had disappeared from their accounts without authorization. In the end, the banks had to block their cards, while compensating them for the damage.
“After a while, my money disappeared. First 2 euros, then 38, later 49 until I had to block the card. However, I immediately sent a complaint and the money was returned to me,” Tereza, one of the victims, described her experience for the portal. However, it is not only those who have bought something through the application that have problems. Money and data were stolen from some people who only registered in the application.
The same problem is also reported by some users in the neighboring Czech Republic, where the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NÚKIB) has already drawn attention to the application.
The company denies wrongdoing
But the company itself denies that the fault is on its side. He considers payment through the application to be safe. “Our payment transactions comply with PCI DSS standards and are further strengthened by 3D Secure protocols in cooperation with leading banks. To strengthen security, we are launching a bug bounty program that engages cybersecurity experts to identify and fix vulnerabilities,” the company stated in its opinion for the portal. At the same time, she added that she is fighting against fraudsters who abuse her site.
You give the app access to the entire phone
However, experts call for caution. “When you install such an application, on the one hand, you give access to your microphone, contacts, just about everything. If you have a card there that you normally use, you basically hand it in as well,” pointed out for the portal tn.cz IT expert Miloslav Lujka.
