Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, ‘Once those who could not even think about salt and rice or dal and rice, now they think about fish, meat and eggs. As a result, those who criticize the government must consider whether development has taken place with them in mind.
The prime minister said these things during the exchange of greetings at the Ganabhaban on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Farmers League on Friday (April 19) morning.

Sheikh Hasina said, ‘The people of the country who once did not get salt and rice, used to cry for rice, who were promised to feed pulse and rice. Some went a step further and asked to eat potatoes instead of rice. Now people don’t cry for salt-rice, dal-rice. Wants to eat fish and meat. Now why did the price of meat increase, why did the price of chicken increase, why did the price of eggs increase; It has reached this stage. I think that those who could not collect salt and rice, now they talk about fish-meat-egg-chicken, it is development. How many steps have people gone up? That is the reality. Many people do not analyze that place. It has to be analyzed. Those who heavily criticize us have to admit that there has been progress.’
Sheikh Hasina suggested introducing cooperative system for the development of agriculture and said, ‘If this can be done, there will be no shortage of food in life.’
Stating that the government is subsidizing Tk 26,000 crore annually in the agricultural sector, the Prime Minister said, ‘If cooperative agriculture is ensured in the way shown by the father of the nation, there will never be a shortage of food in the country.’
The head of government said, ‘because of the economic progress, the people of the country are now thinking about the price of fish and meat, not pulses and rice. Those who are criticizing should also keep this in mind.

Pasalimani: “The house was unsuitable” – Testimony of a former tenant
– 2024-04-19 20:53:01
The young policeman, who worked part-time in a construction site to supplement his income, was crushed by rubble and breathed his last on Neorion Street in Piraeus, when the property collapsed before anyone could help him.
The tragic news has plunged the parents and friends in Grevena, where the deceased policeman came from, into mourning, as well as his colleagues, who speak of him in the best words.
Everyone is waiting for answers about the causes of the collapse of the building, which led Agathangelos Papadopoulos to his death.
The Chronicles
Everything happened on Tuesday 16/04 in the morning during work on a neoclassical building, on Neorion street which ends in Pasalimani, Piraeus. In the attempt to put down a wall, the workers seem to have hit a beam and the upper floor immediately collapsed.
The unlucky policeman, who was with 5 other people inside the building, jumped onto the truck below to save himself but did not make it. He was crushed by rubble and died on the spot.
EKAV rescuers, firefighters and policemen rushed to the scene but it was already too late for the 31-year-old policeman.
Nine arrests
After the tragedy, the contractor and 8 workers were arrested, including three injured.
They are looking for the owner of the property, as well as the engineer.
The Greek former owner of the neoclassical building has been summoned to testify, while a case file has already been filed against a total of 16 people.
Speaking to Live News, the former tenant of the house that collapsed said she was asked to leave the building “badly,” as she said.
“The house was unsuitable, I had filed a complaint with the Health Department, I also received threats from the previous owner with whom I had contact. I don’t know the new owners. The selling price of the house was 450 thousand euros, but I don’t know how much the property ended up being bought for.”
“He was always helping, he was such a kid”
The deceased special guard had been serving with the DIAS team for the past few years and was doing extra work to make ends meet.
“He didn’t stop, he always helped, he was that kind of kid,” said the dead policeman’s uncle.
He had previously worked as a waiter and also as a delivery boy, where he had even been injured during delivery. Lately he has been involved in construction work.
“He was the best kid, a laughing stock,” said the officer’s aunt.
The tragedy in Pasalimani revealed, in the person of the 31-year-old special guard, the difficulties faced by the police in general, in order to survive, since the low wages lead many to seek additional work in order to live with dignity.
The deceased policeman did not want to burden his parents. He was chasing jobs and trying to grab every opportunity to increase his income. Honorable and proud, until his untimely end.
“He really wanted to be a police officer, he had a passion for it,” said the police officer’s aunt.
The body of the unfortunate policeman is expected to be transferred to Grevena in the next few days for his funeral, while investigations into the tragedy continue.

7 Foods to Increase Platelets
– 2024-04-18 05:37:34
THROMBOCYTES are blood cells whose main function is to support the blood clotting process. In the medical world, a low platelet count is called thrombocytopenia.
Platelets can last for 10 days, before the bone marrow returns to producing new platelets.
When we are injured, platelets will make the blood stickier and clot, thereby stopping blood flow.
At the same time, platelets stimulate proteins in the blood to produce fibrin, which functions to strengthen wound obstruction. Platelets have an important role, if they are not present, the blood clotting process will be disrupted and cause bleeding.
Each person’s platelet levels are different, depending on age and gender. Normal platelet levels in women are in the range of 157,000-371,000 mcL, while in men it is 135,000-317,000 mcL.
Normal platelet levels in children are 250,000-450,000 mcL. Elderly people over 60 years also have a different range of normal platelet levels, namely 165,000 – 355,000 mcL and will decrease with age.

Pumpkin is another best food with extraordinary properties in increasing platelet count. The reason is, it contains vitamin A which can increase the number of platelets produced by the bone marrow.
