Vanessa Bause doesn’t just invest in stocks and ETFs. Vanessa Bause
Vanessa Bause lives and works in Singapore. She has become self-employed as a financial mentor and passes on her knowledge about finances and the stock market.
The 32-year-old doesn’t know her portfolio inside out. She says she doesn’t look at her depot daily or weekly. She buys new positions every two to three months.
The financial mentor primarily relies on ETFs and individual stocks. However, around five percent of her investments flow into so-called P2P loans, as she reveals in an interview with Business Insider.
She wears her hair a bright red. Her clothes are colorful. And her fingernails shine in bright colors. No question: Vanessa Bause is colorful. Definitely more colorful than much else on the stock market. And the 32-year-old, who currently lives in Singapore, approaches investments a little differently as a private investor – with success. Your portfolio, which does not only consist of stocks and ETFs, has long been in the six figures (Business Insider got a glimpse into her portfolio).
Vanessa Bause has lived and worked in Singapore for more than three years. Her husband had been offered the chance to go to Asia by his employer. The couple took advantage of the opportunity together. The 32-year-old has become self-employed as a financial mentor. “I specialized in women because there are already enough role models for men,” she says with a laugh.
She wants to “bring relaxation to the subject of finance,” explains the young woman, who has completed a business degree. It is colorful and analytical at the same time. “I like working with numbers.” But that’s not a must to understand the stock market. “Basic arithmetic is sufficient and for more complicated calculations there are calculators or formulas,” she says. You don’t have to know everything by heart. You just have to know where to find the knowledge.
For your own investments Vanessa Bause chose an equally relaxed path. “I don’t invest money all the time. It’s not like I deal with investment products on a daily or weekly basis,” says the 32-year-old. You don’t analyze a new company for potential investments every week. As a rule, she looks at different companies every two to three months and then decides on investments.
A strategy that has proven successful for the young woman living in Singapore. In an interview with Business Insider, she gives an insight into her portfolio and names the largest stock positions in her portfolio. Vanessa Bause also reveals which other form of investment she chose for her portfolio.
Vanessa Bause grew up near Frankfurt in what she describes as a “middle to upper middle class”. Her mother is a tax advisor, her father works as a middle-level civil servant. “I got some financial education from home.”

The release of BGN 1 billion for thermal power plants is a great victory
– 2024-04-26 18:18:55
The allocation of BGN 1 billion for thermal power plants by the National Assembly is a great victory. This is what the mayor of Stara Zagora and member of the executive committee of GERB Jivko Todorov told bTV.
“This is a breath of fresh air for everyone who works at Maritsa Iztok TPP. A large part of people from Stara Zagora work in the thermal power plant and in the mines. I am satisfied with today’s decision of the parliament and as mayor I am glad that they will be able to keep their jobs and not worry about tomorrow”, he said on the floor allocated funding for a period of four years (2024-2028).
He explained that people’s jobs are threatened by the so-called green deal and the annual increase in the price of emissions.
According to him, the allocation of these funds does not provide a complete solution to the problem of coal plants, but in this transitional period, miners and energy workers must be retrained, as well as find an alternative to these jobs.
“We in the municipality have prepared projects for industrial zones. One of them is the “Zagore” industrial zone, which is almost full of investors. Elenino Industrial Zone, for which we have concluded two major contracts with investors for the creation of nearly 800 jobs, is also under development. Another such large project is the airport in Stara Zagora, which is also to be turned into an industrial zone. This is already a state project because the airport itself is state-owned. There – on the territory of these 2,200 acres, many investors could find their place”, he further explained.
For the mayor of Stara Zagora, it is most important that people have jobs, as well as that the commitment to reclamation of the mines is fulfilled, so as not to lead to an ecological catastrophe in the region.
The idea, according to him, is to give the funds approved by the National Assembly as salaries to the miners and energy workers, who in turn are engaged in the reclamation of the mines in the next four years.
“It is not by chance that today in the National Assembly some deputies said: ‘Let’s not give this money to external companies.’ I am absolutely in agreement with the mines having to deal with their own resources in fulfilling reclamation commitments. In this way, we will keep these people in Stara Zagora, while in the meantime we will create alternative jobs for them”, Zivko Todorov also pointed out.
He also drew attention to the reverse process – the abrupt closure of mines and power plants. According to him, not only would people lose their jobs, but the state would also lose a lot because “the unemployed don’t pay taxes.”
