Once again, the UAE leadership confirms that its citizens are the foundation for shaping the future. As she puts her ambitions into action, she infuses the usual optimism into the souls of her children. There are many achievements they have seen in various fields, but in the next phase they will witness stations (brighter, more hopeful and more prosperous) than those before them, so that the year 2024 will be the most beautiful and magnificent in the world History of the Emirates.
This is part of what the government is working on as part of an action plan focused on the implementation of national priorities, in line with the vision and policies of the country’s leadership, which has directed all federal agencies to work on government initiatives and projects that are the national priorities serve.
The promises made by the government were no coincidence, as they followed the important achievements made by the state last year and in previous years. The Council of Ministers recently adopted 60 national policies and strategies and 62 international agreements aimed at improving the government’s work system and advancing the country’s comprehensive development process. These policies and strategies include the UAE Circular Economy Agenda 2031, the Charter of Carbon Neutral Governments 2050, the National Agenda for the Development of the Country’s Re-export Sector 2030, the launch of the UAE Labor Market Leadership Prize, and the Model for the Operating public schools – Ajyal Schools – and increasing their efficiency.
The other matter that can be added to the above is the adoption by the Council of Ministers of the budget for the years 2024-2026, estimated at 192 billion dirhams, and the adoption of the general budget of the Union for this year 2024 with revenues of of 65 billion and 728 million dirhams, with a growth rate of 3.3% compared to fiscal year 2023. And expenses of 64 billion and 60 million dirhams and a growth rate of 1.6% compared to fiscal year 2023 There is no doubt that all of this supports accelerated efforts to achieve the UAE’s goal of being the best and most advanced companies in the world by 2071.
What is planned for the current year 2024 is in line with what was achieved last year, as the experience of the October parliamentary elections was strengthened and became an important historical milestone in the process of political strengthening in the Emirates. In this electoral period – the fifth election – the number of members of the electoral body increased to 18.1% compared to the 2019 electoral lists, and women also enjoyed an outstanding presence in the 2019 electoral lists, with an increasing rate of 51% compared to the Proportion of men, which was 49%. As for the Emiratization acts, according to the “Nafis” program, the total number of citizens working in the private sector reached about 92,000 citizens. In the economic field, non-oil GDP achieved a growth rate of 5.9% in the first nine months of 2023, and the UAE ranked first in the world in more than 215 development, economic and human indicators in international reports, winning First place in the Competitiveness Index of Arab Economies, published by the International Monetary Fund.
Another achievement for 2023 is the return of astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi to Earth after the first six-month Arab mission aboard the International Space Station, during which he was involved in conducting more than 200 scientific experiments. As the UAE Hope Probe continues its space mission to explore other planets following its arrival on the Red Planet in February 2021, the UAE continues its remarkable work at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant, the first peaceful reactor in the Arab world.
I have mentioned here only some of the achievements that the UAE has actually achieved and some of the ambitions that the government has set for the next stage. They all show the strength of will and clear vision of leadership that is not satisfied with anything other than the best for themselves and their people.
