The 29-year-old said she had been forced into sexual acts several times. She finally managed to alert the police through a friend. The 51-year-old suspect was arrested at the apartment.
A 29-year-old woman is said to have been held in an apartment in Vienna-Meidling for around two weeks, attacked and repeatedly forced to perform sexual acts. On Saturday (during lunchtime) the woman contacted a friend who alerted the police. The 51-year-old suspect, a North Macedonian citizen, was arrested at the apartment and is in police custody. He is now to be questioned by the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, the executive reported on Sunday. The woman was in the building’s stairwell when police arrived.
The investigation is now underway, among other things, on suspicion of rape, deprivation of liberty and continued violence.
Once again, the Vienna police point out that they can be reached around the clock on the emergency number 133 for people “who perceive violence or are victims of violence themselves”. The crime prevention department of the Vienna State Criminal Police Office also offers personal advice on the hotline 0800 216346.
