Thibaut Courtois’ rehabilitation is going in the right direction. The Belgian goalkeeper posted a video from training on his social media on Saturday. “The energy you feel when you put on your football boots and step onto the pitch is indescribable!” wrote the Red Devil.
At the beginning of August last year, Courtois suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury at Real Madrid. Since then he has been working hard on his comeback. In his extensive interview last month, he hinted that his rehabilitation is going in the right direction. This video confirms that.
Courtois was still in the country last week. The Limburger was a guest in Genk on the occasion of the second edition of the Demo Day for young goalkeepers in training.
“I’m just a person with feelings”
On Saturday evening, Courtois was also one of the central guests on Sven de Leijer’s VRT1 program Peace on Earth. “I will definitely watch the Red Devils’ games at the European Championships. I did that too when I was injured,” said Courtois. “But I think a lot of people underestimate my injury. If I am only 80 to 90 percent recovered, I cannot travel to Germany. I would rather not play so I can be ready for the new season at Real Madrid. I’m also turning 32, so it’s important to take care of your body.”
The Belgian goalkeeper also returned to the captaincy question, which brought him and national coach Domenico Tedesco apart. “I may have reacted a little too emotionally when I suddenly left the group, but I’m just a human being with feelings. I’m not a robot.
