The Furious Wolf 24 exercise takes place regularly in all three Baltic countries and aims to practice the integration of close air support to support units inside and outside urban environments.
The training, together with UAV specialists, will include air support controllers from the USA, the Czech Republic, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Norway and Germany, as well as United Fire Observers and air support controllers from the Mechanized Infantry Brigade from the 1st Riga Brigade and the 27th Infantry Battalion of the National Guard.
Such military exercises significantly improve the understanding of the role of units in the performance of joint tasks and make an invaluable contribution to the country’s comprehensive defense by facilitating the performance of the host country’s support functions for arriving units of allied countries.
As part of the military exercise, low-level flights by Allied Air Force fighter aircraft will take place in Latvia’s airspace in both daylight and darkness.
It is also planned to transport military equipment and soldiers along Latvia’s main and regional roads during the exercise.
