Small robots powered by artificial intelligence algorithms are slowly creeping into the vision of an autonomous and modern home. Recently, LG introduced the corresponding solution, which was a home assistant on two wheels. Now Samsung has introduced its robot that can use a fairly advanced projector. However, the device is not completely new; after all, it celebrated its debut a few years ago – also at the CES.
Samsung once again presented a small robot that will become our home assistant. It was originally released at CES years ago and is now back in a more advanced form.
Artificial intelligence is taking a more physical form. LG presents small robots that support us at home
Samsung Ballie was originally a spherical, small robot that was introduced at CES in 2020. However, this year’s edition has undergone a significant metamorphosis, both in terms of appearance and functionality. In terms of design, we are now dealing with a round robot on wheels that has a projector mounted in the rotating part in the middle. Samsung points out that the device is so advanced that it can determine the appropriate projection distance that will be visible on the floor, wall or ceiling.

As for the functions themselves, the robot will be able to monitor our home and send specific messages (including videos) depicting certain events. It will also be able to connect to devices such as “smart” lighting and manage them accordingly. However, the projector itself is the main feature that is intended to be used in many areas. Thanks to this we can have a greeting when we cross the threshold of our home, view videos or static images, as well as weather and other information. During the exercises we will see a video on the wall showing them. Finally, it was also shown that the robot can project a thematic background onto the ceiling while going to sleep. Unfortunately, we don’t know any further details or the price of the device, so you’ll have to be patient.
