Beijing – Chinese scientists have tested a new coronavirus mutation on “humanized” mice and the results were nothing short of surprising. This is a mutation of the coronavirus GX/2017, which can be viewed as a cousin of Covid-19. Reports in the New York Post show that researchers had altered the mice’s brains so that their DNA was more similar to human brains. All mice died when they came into contact with the virus. The fear of a new, deadlier corona pandemic is getting closer and closer.
The so-called “GX_P2V” virus infected the brains, lungs, bones, eyes and trachea of the mice. This left the animals defenseless. They died within eight days. However, the result of this experiment can also be unfavorable for humans. The researchers say: “This highlights the risk of GX_P2V spreading to humans and provides a unique perspective for understanding how Covid-related viruses attack cells.”
High mortality rate
This is the first time ever that a coronavirus experiment on mice resulted in a 100 percent mortality rate. But not everyone is panicking now. Professor Francois Balloux of University College London called the Chinese experiment “completely pointless” and “horrible.” He wrote on
Craziness
He is supported by Dr. Gennady Glinsky. “This madness must be stopped before it is too late.” This current research was conducted at a location other than the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where the origins of Covid-19 have been linked. It is still not clear how the original infamous virus emerged.
