The TaylorMade “Qi10” driver achieves an unprecedented moment of inertia of 10,000 g/cm2, achieving unprecedented forgiveness and flight. The “Qi10” fairway wood has also adopted this trend and is an easy-to-hit wood with a large moment of inertia!
Fairway wood also has the greatest moment of inertia in history
Left “Qi10 MAX Fairway Wood”, middle “Qi10 Fairway Wood”, right “Qi10 TOUR Fairway Wood”
Professional rider Takayuki Katsumata, who was in charge of the test ride, said: “I tried the 5W, but the head felt larger than the typical 3W. There are three models in the range, but all inherit the characteristics of the driver. .
“Qi10 MAX” is simply great. The flat back allows for easy setup and an excellent standing position. Like the driver, the white line at the top of the face makes alignment easier, and you can imagine it picking up the ball simply by holding it up. It feels good in the hand and flies straight, but has no draft, making it a simple model that can be used by more people.
The Qi10 standard is already used by Rory McIlroy and Colin Morikawa. The ball can be easily lifted and a strong ball is created that flies forward with a high trajectory. It is slightly smaller than “MAX” and can be used not only from the fairway, but also from the tee and the rough and is therefore recommended for everyone who wants a lot of variety.
“Qi10 TOUR” is the only titanium head. Although it is a 5W ball, it feels comfortable and has the same distance performance as a 3W ball. And the ball is significantly easier to raise and lighter than “Stealth 2 PLUS”. As you shift the weight backwards, the ball rises even further and increases spin. As you shift your weight forward, your head will feel lighter and swing more easily.
This increases the flight distance. In addition to the sliding weight position, combined with the ±2 degree loft adjustment function and ±4 degree lie angle adjustment function, you can further adjust the launch angle and amount of spin, allowing you to adjust the trajectory to your liking. The shaft is also more stable than the other two models.
The “Qi10” series fairway woods offer both forgiveness and long-distance performance, making them useful for many golfers, from those who are not good with fairway woods to advanced golfers who want to aim for the trajectory they want introduce. I’m sure it will come to you.
Trial training and commentary
Takayuki Katsumata professional
After graduating from Senshu University, he passed the professional exam in 2008, beating Yuta Kinoshita, Daiku Kataoka and others.
He has extensive knowledge of the equipment and can predict his own test drive data with the accuracy of a trajectory measuring device. He is currently giving lessons at “GOLF PLACE”.
The measurements were carried out with TaylorMade “TP5 PROTO” and the “Golf Swing Better Prizm Pro” trajectory measuring device.
Qi10 TOUR fairway wood
“The sole is equipped with a 50g sliding weight, which was adopted from the previous work “Stealth 2 Plus”. When the weight is placed at the back, the center of gravity is low, allowing the ball to rise more easily and increasing spin, while when placed at the front, the center of gravity is flat, resulting in a strong trajectory. It increases the flight distance. When you combine it with the loft adjustment feature, you can create the trajectory that is best for you.”

Qi10 fairway wood
“It is a blade with high overall power that combines softness, light ball flight, flight distance and straightness.”
It can be used not only from the fairway but also from the tee and the rough, making it recommended for those who want to do different things. There are many loft variations, so I think it would be easy to use the “Qi10 MAX” driver and “Qi10” fairway wood combination. ”

Qi10 MAX fairway wood
“A large clubhead that follows the style of the Qi10 MAX driver. The flat back makes it easy to set up and offers excellent stability. When you hit it, the ball goes up slightly. Even if it hits the bottom of the clubface, the ball is light. The ball goes up. If you master the large moment of inertia, you can use it. I guess it depends on the shape. It really doesn’t wobble, so depending on the shaft, even professionals could use it.”
