Runner Agate Caune and Latvian ice hockey goaltender Artūrs Šilovs were recognized as Latvia’s Best Athletes of 2023 at the Three Star Awards ceremony in Riga on Wednesday, January 17.
At the “Hanza Platform” ceremony, the goalkeeper of the Latvian ice hockey team Artūrs Šilovs beat the captain of the World Championship bronze medal team of the same name, Kaspars Daugavinas, basketball player Kristaps Porziņgis and weightlifter Ritvars Suhareva in the nomination for “Sportsman of the Year”. and Latvian basketball team defender Artūrs Žagar.

The Three Star Award 2023 is organized by the Latvian Olympic Committee in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science.
