Shortly afterwards, Liverpool also published an interview with the coach. “Becoming coach of Liverpool is a fairy tale,” said the 56-year-old German. “But it is also a very difficult task. This is only possible if you work intensively on it and are 100,000 percent committed to it. You have to sacrifice your whole life for this.”
Klopp: “No normal life for too long”
“I came here as a normal man and I still am, but I just haven’t lived a normal life for too long. And I don’t want to wait until I’m too old to live a normal life. I should at least try it and see what it’s like.”
“This is the right time for me and the club because next year I will no longer be able to do the job the way I do it now and have always done it. I’ll try to describe it as a decent sports car, not the best, but still a good one that still does over 200 per hour. But the tank is emptying and I’m the only one who sees it. You keep going as long as you can, but at some point you need a break. Nobody has to worry about this season, I will continue to do so.”

Champions League in 2019
Klopp joined Liverpool in October 2015 after leaving Dortmund in the summer. The top German coach once again led Liverpool to great success, including the Champions League victory in 2019 and the national title in 2020. This year, the Reds also won the World Club Championship. In 2022, Liverpool won the English FA Cup and the League Cup.
This season, Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League, five points ahead of Manchester City, who have played a game less.
