Hearing this, Mr. Nam is said to have questioned Jeon’s mental state and asked the police to take security measures during cross-examination.
Before further cross-examination on the 26th, Mr. Nam’s lawyer said: “During cross-examination, a safe and accident-free examination is necessary to prevent Mr. Nam from being further shocked by Mr. Jeon’s provocation.” Mr. Jeon said in one Prison letter that he likes Nam. However, the lawyer submitted a written statement saying: “During the investigation and trial, which took place simultaneously, he continued to tell contradictory lies, including falsely claiming that Mr. Jeon Nam was an accomplice in the fraud.
Mr Nam revealed that he has currently been diagnosed with a major depressive episode due to shock and stress, which required “three months of drug treatment”.
On November 29 last year, Mr. Jeon was charged with fraud, forgery of official documents, use of forged official documents, forgery of private documents and use of forged documents under the Law on Aggravated Punishment of Certain Economic Crimes (Special Police Law). He is accused of posing as a hidden successor to a famous domestic company from March to October last year and receiving over 3 billion won in investment money from 27 victims.
Mr. Jeon admitted the charges from the first trial, but during the trial there was a dispute over whether he was an accomplice of Mr. Lee, 27, the head of the security department, and Mr. Nam.
Mr. Lee acted as Mr. Jeon’s head of security and managed to transfer more than 2.1 billion won of the damages to his own account, and colluded with Mr. Jeon by offering Mr. Jeon Signiel Residence and a supercar for rent in his own name He is suspected of having stolen money.
Mr. Jeon continues to claim that Mr. Nam is an accomplice.
