Works meetings made the first agreement in the spring wage round possible
Vienna (OTS) – On April 22nd, the collective bargaining negotiations for the approximately 60,000 employees in the electrical and electronics industry (EEI) entered their third round. The PRO-GE and GPA unions were able to reach an agreement with the employers late on Monday evening. Collectively agreed wages and salaries rise by 7.5 percent. Actual wages and salaries will be increased by 6.8 percent. Apprentice incomes increase by 7.5 percent. Allowances and travel expense allowances also increase by 7.5 percent. The allowance for the second shift will be increased by 78 percent to one euro per hour.
“The sustainable wage and salary increases are a joint success of the works councils and employees. It was only through the works meetings that an agreement in this round and at this level was possible. They ensured the necessary movement on the employers’ side. We have gone from zero to 7 “Increased by 5 percent,” emphasize the two chief negotiators on the employee side, Reinhold Binder (PRO-GE) and Karl Dürtscher (GPA), and point out that until this third round there was no offer from employers for wage and salary increases.
The collective bargaining partners also agreed on a qualification offensive. In the next few years, employees without relevant vocational training will be qualified as skilled workers.
The increases will apply from May 1, 2024. The KV agreement for EEI is the first agreement in this year’s industrial spring wage round. The collective bargaining negotiations for the chemical industry will enter their third round on April 23rd. The paper industry will enter the second round of KV on April 25th.

Amazon Announces Expansion of Prime Air Drone Delivery Services to West Valley in Phoenix, AZ
Revolutionizing the Future of Delivery with Drone Technology
In a bold move to revolutionize the future of delivery, Amazon has announced that it will soon bring its Prime Air drone delivery service to Phoenix’s West Valley. According to reports, the drones have been in development for years and Amazon is eager to finally introduce them to their customers later this year.
The e-commerce giant’s drone deliveries have been garnering attention as they are completely autonomous, meaning there is no need for human intervention during deliveries. This not only makes deliveries faster and more efficient but also serves as a solution for delivering in areas where road transportation can be difficult. However, before the drones take to the sky, Amazon needs approval from local government officials and Federal Aviation Administration.
Walmart has also jumped on board with drone technology as it expands its own drone delivery service that aims at providing contactless, fast delivery services across several states in America. According to Walmart’s website, currently households in Dallas-Fort Worth area have access with 1.8 million additions made this January.
The Pros and Cons of Drone Deliveries
The drones will fly out of a site beside its Tolleson same-day delivery location in what the company described as its “first time” they will be “fully integrated” into its network.
While autonomous drone technology does come with advantages such as ease of transport due to lack of human interaction during travel processes which result in lower costs for people living outside metro areas who would typically pay more on conventional shipping rates; it may heighten security concerns over privacy issues like those regarding airspace restrictions and where could potentially open up possibilities for misuse by unauthorized parties (such as criminals trying steal packages mid-flight). Additionally countries like China are testing days long flights which do raise security questions around who is ensuring they are safe.
Proposals to Improve the System
- Establishing airspace restrictions and regulations should be put in place to curtail possible misuse of drone technology. The rules would be designed with the public’s safety in mind, including considerations for privacy and security.
- Operating autonomous deliveries under secure conditions especially where restricted access areas like rehabilitation facilities so as to reduce human interaction thus reducing chances of exposure leading safety.
- The use of remotely piloted drones would reduce concerns over privacy while still leveraging drone technology for transportation/ delivery needs due to ability of adjusting flight depending on weather, traffic conditions which reduces airtime/ fuel consumption hence allowing an economically efficient solution.
A Look into the Future
While the future of delivery lies with autonomous technology such as that used in drone systems, it is important that any efforts towards introducing these new technologies are done collaboratively and cautiously. By doing this we can ensure that these technologies not only make a positive difference within our communities but also promote public trust through taking measures like encrypting data streams or implementing other solutions around security; all whilst keeping up with changing market demands so as to ensure we remain competitive within this industry.

Online Tax Evasion Uncovered: Luxury, Deception, and Investigations
Tax audit (PG)[김민아 제작] illustration
(Sejong = Yonhap Infomax) Reporter Choi Wook = Adult online broadcasting agency A has given hundreds of millions of money to their BJ by introducing flirting viewers during the so-called ‘Friend Room’ broadcast.
By taking advantage of the fact that viewers’ real names were not revealed on the broadcast, they encouraged other viewers to donate larger amounts out of competition.
A and BJ’s master enjoyed a life of luxury, including luxury goods and foreign cars, with the income earned by cheating spectators, and avoiding corporate taxes by receiving false tax invoices or accounting for false expenses by pretending to have paid labor expenses to relatives.
The tax authorities were also caught on suspicion of evading the full value added tax by disguising themselves as a tax exempt business.
The National Tax Service announced on the 23rd that it had started a tax investigation into 21 cases of new people suspected of online tax evasion.
By type, there are 12 cases of friend broadcasters, entertainment companies, and BJs, 5 cases of sellers of luxury goods in online second-hand markets, and 4 cases of YouTubers who received unfair tax breaks.
The National Tax Service explained that these people are suspected of tax evasion by taking advantage of the characteristics of the online environment, where it is difficult to verify real names and track income.

Among these, in the case of the friends agency, it was confirmed that hundreds of millions of money earned in corporate funds were used to buy paid items for flirting.
Shin Jae-bong, head of the investigation and analysis department of the National Tax Service, said, “Through the investigation, we will confirm whether it is a generally recognized cost,” and “Through this tax investigation, we will also reveal where did the money go.”
Although some luxury goods sellers are businesses that operate offline stores, they disguise themselves as non-businessmen and sell many expensive items in online second-hand markets such as the Carrot Market, Junggonara, and Beongae Market.
They are suspected of selling more than 1,800 items of jewelry, bags, watches, and motorcycles for up to 3.9 billion won, and hiding their income by accepting the payment in cash.
In order to abuse the tax reduction system for young startups and small and medium enterprises, YouTubers who registered as businesses in regions with a 100% tax reduction rate while doing business elsewhere were also under investigation.
An official from the National Tax Service emphasized, “Through this investigation, we will ensure that the system of tax reductions for young start-ups and small and medium-sized businesses, which aims to support young people who start businesses and create jobs in areas other than the metropolitan area, is properly implemented.”
