For the first time, Togo, like all Commonwealth countries, is celebrating Youth Work Week. This is announced by Ms. Myriam Dossou d’Almeida, Minister of Grassroots Development, Youth and Youth Employment.
For this celebration which runs from November 6 to 11, 2023, the theme chosen is “Youth work in all places and in all spaces”. Youth workers are professionals who work with young people in all areas to help them develop their skills, self-confidence and independence.
According to Ms. Myriam Dossou-d’Almeida, this week highlights the passion, commitment, excellence, the enormous responsibility that these actors assume and the sacrifices they make. It is also an opportunity to continue exploring strategies aimed at improving support mechanisms for professionals and strengthening the impact of their work.
Ms. Myriam Dossou-d’Almeida paid well-deserved tribute to all youth workers who, she said, “are investing in the future of our country and the development of our youth”
“I urge young people to become more involved in youth work and to integrate the concept of Youth For Youth which is a think tank organized by young people for young people and which aims to offer African youth , a voluntary program of excellence, sharing of experiences and capacity building adapted to the demands of the world of work”underlined Ms. Myraim Dossou-d’Almeida on her Twitter account.
