The Pascual Group is not overly concerned about the impact of the veto on its milk by the main food distribution group in our country, Mercadona, which since March has prioritized its own reference on its shelves.
This was stated by the president of the food group, Tomás Pascal, during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the birth of his mineral water brand, Bezoya. As the second generation at the head of the Aranda de Duero company, Pascual recalled that his father, founder of the firm, taught him how to not depend more than 10% on a single client, bank or supplier and added that the marketing of milk in the Valencian supermarket chain represents less than 3% of its turnover.
After remembering that Mercadona maintains the sale of its milk references in establishments in the provinces of Segovia and Mercadona, where Pascual has strong social roots, its president recognized that Your desire as a company is to have a presence in all chains, even in those that bet so much on their own brand, which is why they must continue working hand in hand with distribution.
In this sense, Pascual recognized that his efforts now have to be directed to the clients of the Juan Roig chain who have been left unable to purchase their products, go to other operators where they have a presence to acquire them, in addition to getting Mercadona interested in its products again. Likewise, he added that this type of brand withdrawals are part of the usual relationship between chains and manufacturers, so what would be interesting would be to know why they have become news.
They will not manufacture white label
Regarding the advance of the private label, especially in the milk line, the main business of this family firm, and about the possibility of manufacturing products for distribution brands, Tomás Pascual reiterated that they will continue to be a brand company, so “we will never sell the same value proposition with two positionings, although on some occasions we have produced for third parties as part of our strategy of gaining volume to become more cost-efficient.” For this year, in which the consultants maintain a forecast of more moderate growth than in previous years of the white label , the president of Pascual predicted a return to the traditional promotional activity in the food distribution market.
Furthermore, he recalled that his commitment to innovation as a value proposition of its brands will remain one of the fundamental pillars of its growth, citing as an example the recent market launch of its range of foods with high protein content at an affordable price Dinamic Protein, with which they expect to invoice 20 million euros in three years.

The grave of Everett Leland Yager. findgrave.com
More than 20 years ago, a young man from Arizona picked up a rock he found while playing, without imagining that it was something completely different: a skeletal remains of an American soldier. Two decades later, a group of experts confirmed that it was not a rock, but the jaw of a member of the US Navy who died 73 years ago.

The Arizona police had that item in their possession since 2002, when the boy’s parents decided to hand it over to the authorities after seeing it among their son’s collection of stones. Over the years, it was included in the “Rock Collection John Doe” group, a classification intended for objects whose provenance is unknown.
Who owned the jawbone found 20 years ago in Arizona?
Finally, in January 2023, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office referred the case to the Ramapo Research Genetic Genealogy Center in New Jersey. A few months later, the institution began an investigation that led to contrasting other pieces from the “Rock Collection John Doe” located in Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah, in addition to comparative studies that had the purpose of revealing who the jaw belonged to.

In a press release, the Study Center explained that, in mid-2023, they discovered who that piece of jaw could have belonged to: Everett Leland Yager, former captain of the Marine Corps. In order to confirm that this bone remains did indeed belong to him, the specialists contacted his daughter, who agreed to undergo a DNA test that could certify the identity of the body. The results were positive.
The jaw appeared in Arizona, 500 kilometers from the place where the soldier died: what are the hypotheses
As explained by researchers, United States Marine Corps Captain Everett Leland Yager died during a military training exercise in July 1951. According to records, he suffered a plane accident due to aircraft failure.
The curious thing is how the jaw fragment ended up in the hands of a child in Arizona, given that the accident occurred in California. The body was recovered in the local town of Riverside and was buried in Palmyra, Missouri. In total, there are 540 kilometers of distance between Yavapai, the city where the object was found, and the site where Everett Leland Yager died.
Investigators theorize that some scavenging animal, especially some species of bird like a vulture or an eagle, picked it up after the plane crash and took it to Arizona.

Inside the special and top secret underground bunker of fascist boss Mussolini
Immediately after Italy entered World War II in June 1940, fascist boss Benito Mussolini quickly built underground bomb shelters for himself at Villa Torlonia, his large mansion in Rome.
In total, Italian fascists built three underground structures to protect Mussolini and his family. The first project in 1940 was a conversion of an old wine cellar on the grounds of the Villa Torlonia mansion.
A year later, the next air raid shelter was built in the basement of Casino Nobile, a building still on the mansion grounds. Its rooms are covered with 120cm thick reinforced concrete, have anti-gas doors and a sophisticated air ventilation and filtration system, enough to provide oxygen for about 15 people for 3-6 hours.
During the war, suspecting that the British Royal Air Force would bomb in pursuit, Mussolini planned to build an underground armored bunker in front of Casino Nobile.
Located 6m underground, it is built in a cross shape with corridors 15m long and 2.5m wide, reinforced with 4m thick reinforced concrete with three different exits.
Construction began in December 1942 and the bunker was unfinished – lacking watertight doors, final ventilation systems and toilets – when the dictator was captured on July 25, 1943.
The bunker was first opened to the public in 2006, but closed two years later, before opening temporarily in the following years.
After its most recent closure in 2021, it has now reopened for guided tours.
The complex now includes a multimedia exhibition about Rome during World War II, allowing visitors to experience a re-enacted air raid on Mussolini’s unfinished bunker.
