Registrations are made through the application epistoliki.ypes.gov.gr, which is accessible through gov.gr and the websites of the Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs.
The voter registration process for the postal vote expires tonight at 23:59 Greek time. According to the official data, by Saturday afternoon over 157,000 Greek citizens had registered on the relevant electronic platform in order to vote by mail in the June 9 European elections. Of these, approximately 116,000 live in Greece, while nearly 41,100 are residents of 115 countries. The number of registered expatriate voters is significantly higher than in the 2023 general election, for which nearly 23,000 were registered to vote in person, with around 18,000 going to the polls in May and 15,600 in June.
8 out of 10 emigrants are residents of European countries (34,580 – 84.1%), approximately 4,290 are registered from North and Central America (10.4%), 870 from Asian countries (2.1%), 400 from Africa (1%), 215 from South American countries (0.5%) and 745 from Oceania (1.8%).
By country, the most registrations come from residents of Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium and the Netherlands. In the June elections, expatriates living in countries where polling stations were not set up in last year’s parliamentary elections will also be able to vote, as the required number was not filled. These include Angola, Botswana, Zambia, Papua New Guinea, Djibouti, the Barbados Islands, Ghana, El Salvador, Ivory Coast etc.
The same data also shows that the interest in the new, for Greek data, voting method is high among all age groups. Voters aged 17 to 30 and 31 to 40 correspond to 31.8% of registered voters. Citizens from 41 to 50 and from 51 to 60 correspond to 38.2%, while those over 61 correspond to 30.1%.
It is recalled that registrations are carried out through the application epistoliki.ypes.gov.gr, which is accessible through gov.gr and the websites of the ministries of interior and foreign affairs.
In order not to be surprised, foreign residents should take into account the time difference between their place of residence and their country of origin. For example, those living in Los Angeles and Vancouver the deadline ends one minute before 2:00 p.m. local time, in New York and Toronto at 5:00 p.m., in Britain at 10:00 p.m., in central Europe (France, Germany, Austria, Spain etc) at 23:00, in Beijing at 05:00 on Tuesday and two hours later in Australia.
Voters who face difficulties in using a computer can contact a Citizen Service Center (CSC) or the competent Greek Consular Authority in order to be registered in the special electoral lists for postal voting.
Any questions can be answered in the fields “more information” or “report a problem” on the platform, by calling +30 210 626 6222 24 hours a day or by contacting a local KEP and for those residing abroad with the relevant Greek Consular Authority.
Voters within Greece enter the platform exclusively through taxisnet using their personal codes. Greeks who live abroad and do not have taxisnet codes, it is possible to complete the certification with the combined use of data from the Greek passport and the Greek police identity card (as long as both are valid) or the passport and the tax registration number.
The electoral file will be sent by the Ministry of Interior via courier in May. The receipt must be done either by the voter himself or by a third party who is expressly authorized to receive it, with a genuine signature visa via gov.gr or by a public authority.
The voter is informed by e-mail about the sending of the file and with an e-link to follow its progress (tracking).
The envelope will include the postal vote return envelope, the ballot which will be uniform with all parties, the voting envelope which will be anonymous, an instruction form, the list of candidates and an application – responsible declaration which must be completed.

The tensions do not calm down at Sciences Po Paris. The management announced, Thursday, May 2, the closure of its main premises in the capital on Friday due to a new occupation voted on in a general assembly by around a hundred students mobilized for the Palestinian cause. Employees are asked to “stay teleworking”. Earlier, the Science Po Committee for Palestine claimed that six students had initiated a hunger strike to denounce partnerships with Israeli universities.
Sciences Po Paris asks that “everyone regains their calm”. A little earlier in the afternoon, Thursday, the provisional administrator of Sciences Po Paris, Jean Bessères, spoke to the press, after a two-hour internal debate devoted to the situation in the Middle East. The manager notably excluded “the creation of a working group proposed by certain students to investigate our relations with Israeli universities and even companies which are our financial partners”.
The Minister of Education speaks of “a minority of students electrified by LFI”. Asked about the multiplication of actions in support of Gaza on French campuses, Sylvie Retailleau denounced a “exaltation” of the movement on the part of La France insoumise, “who uses this for electoral purposes”. “LFI must measure the seriousness of the consequences of their cynicism.”she added on franceinfo, in the evening.
University presidents urged to “maintain order” public. “I ask you to use the fullest extent of the powers conferred on you by the Education Code”, declared Sylvie Retailleau, in the morning, during a meeting with university presidents. The objective of this videoconference, according to the ministry, was to “collectively recall that the university is a bastion of democracy and structured debatethat it is neutral and cannot be instrumentalized”.

The New York Court of Appeals has stayed the execution of a $454 million civil fraud judgment against former US President Donald Trump on the condition that he post $175 million in bonds within 10 days.
The ruling, which did not address the merits of the case or indicate how the appeals court will ultimately rule, was issued as the deadline for filing full bonds expired. It was a few hours away.
Otherwise, Trump’s assets were at risk of being seized by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who brought the case to court.
Trump, who has denied wrongdoing, is appealing a February ruling that found he fraudulently inflated his wealth by billions of dollars to defraud creditors and insurance companies. Presented
The process could take a year or more, and if they post bond by the new deadline, James won’t be able to seize their property during that time.
He was unable to get a bond after being turned down by 30 surety companies and faces mounting costs from his other legal woes.
After the decision, Trump said on social media that he would submit smaller bonds before the deadline.

The court set an April 15 trial date, rejecting objections from Trump’s lawyers in the case over payments to a porn star that contained documents about former Trump fixer and key prosecution witness Michael Cohen. The delay was called for because of the late disclosure of
Trump has pleaded not guilty to altering business records related to a $130,000 payment Cohen made to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
The payment was intended to cover up an alleged past sex scandal, which Trump denies.
The decision makes it likely that a decision will be made before the November 5 US election. Republican Trump hopes to defeat Democratic President Joe Biden in the election.
At the last minute, after new evidence, including Daniels’ statements to the FBI, came to light, Judge Joan Murchan also granted a request to dismiss Donald Trump’s 34-felony indictment. Rejected.
Trump is also indicted in two other cases of trying to change the outcome of the 2020 election and in a third case indicted on charges of possessing classified documents after leaving office.
But all three cases are delayed due to legal wrangles. Trump has pleaded not guilty to all four criminal charges.
