A lot of time has passed since the end of the acclaimed Arkham trilogy (with the much lesser known but still popular Origins from WB Games Montreal). Many fans of the franchise hoped that this was not the end of the promising universe and that Rocksteady would release something new sooner or later. And of course that’s exactly what awaits us at the beginning of February. What’s more, the sequel to one of the most enduring game series to date looks completely different than we could hope for.
An early version of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was played by some journalists. Most of the upcoming games received a lot of criticism, mostly focused on the level of gameplay.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – new gameplay shows us the world and the plot. We know the hardware requirements and price of the game
On February 2nd, Rocksteady’s long-announced hit, which has already been slowly released, will be available on PCs and the latest generation consoles from Sony and Microsoft. For now, we can take a look at the first opinions on the title, based on several hours of sessions at a special event. This allowed us to cover the early stages of the story, in which the titular team collects gadgets from the abandoned Justice League base and heads to the city, which is being overrun by Brainiac’s forces – including the superheroes themselves.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League with a long show as part of the State of Play series
A number of preliminary reviews of the published segment generally do not support spending several hundred zlotys on “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League”. The most fascinating thing here seems to be the plot, although it is also emphasized that the makers jump back and forth a bit too much between a serious tone and loose interludes. Unfortunately, it was the gameplay that did the most damage. Four different heroes, each with their own skill trees to expand, move around (we spend a lot of time on aerial developments) in a large open world – that alone puts the game in a sea of similar items with looter-shooter mechanics and repetitive side quests. Fragments of gameplay may be reminiscent of Marvel’s Avengers or Gotham Knights, and the colorful combat deviates significantly from the Arkhamverse’s typically dark tone. Below are a few selected video reviews describing first impressions:
