Unfortunately, in the Czech Republic there is growing dissatisfaction with the way property is divided or distributed here. Although it is commonly said that we are a relatively egalitarian society and that wealth disparities are much greater elsewhere, in reality this is not the case. At least some think so. They also point out that it would be a bad idea to change it, but that doing so would be extremely dangerous since it could violate the inviolability of property.
Few people have a lot of money
“Did you know that 1% of the richest people in the Czech Republic own 36% of all property? Only one hundred of the richest own the entire 16%. The myth of the egalitarian Czech Republic has major cracks,“said Zuzana Klusová on the social network X. “Yes, we have similarly low incomes, but large wealth differences. At the same time, property taxes are record low. Social justice is not communism, but a prerequisite for a functioning society.“
The person concerned then adds that we should definitely not take it lightly, as dissatisfaction in society is growing due to inequality. It can stay hidden for a long time, but one day it comes to the surface, which can be a really unpleasant discovery.
On the other hand, the Czech Republic will only continue on the path of a capitalist state if successful entrepreneurs are ultimately heavily subsidized. This is a well-known fact, but few people examine how many people have failed on their way to the top. Everyone then only sees the huge property and not what lies behind it.

Attitude towards property
The whole thing is anything but easy. Some argue that society needs the richest people because they are the ones who provide for the livelihood of others. “Could you please explain to me what is wrong with someone having a fortune worth billions, how do you think they ended up in such a situation (maybe you don’t think it is at the expense of the poor) and whether you understand the fact that the assets consist of other property?asks Petr Horáček, for example.

He was told that in the 1990s, many entrepreneurs didn’t make money with a great product, but just with crazy laws. That may be partly true, but it can hardly be a reason for a blanket condemnation of the established system.

We’re probably a long way from foreclosure, although you never know. On the other hand, the trend towards significantly higher property taxes than before is increasing very strongly. And this is actually such an easy and continuous form of dispossession. Of course, it always depends on the measure chosen.
