Saudi Economy Minister Faisal Al-Ibrahim said on Thursday that the kingdom will host a special session of the World Economic Forum next April.
The meeting is scheduled for April 28th and 29th.
Al-Ibrahim noted that the meetings will focus on global cooperation and growth in many sectors, especially as the Kingdom has become a capital of progress in many fields and sectors.
The Saudi Economy Minister added that Saudi Arabia is currently a stronger and better country than before, during a session at the World Economic Forum in Davos titled “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia: The Way Forward.”
He also stressed that the Kingdom will continue to make improvements and carry out the necessary economic reforms by focusing on the tourism industry and related sectors.
He explained that the kingdom’s economy – excluding the oil sector – has surpassed that of the United States since 2016.
“The kingdom’s economy has grown by 20% since 2016, not including oil.” Al-Ibrahim expected the Saudi economy to grow by 4.4% in 2024.
Al-Ibrahim said while participating in a dialogue session at the World Economic Forum in Davos that the kingdom’s non-oil GDP is expected to grow between 4.5% and 5% in the current year.
