“Talsu NSS/Krauzers” (#2) – “RTU/Rockets” (#11) (at 6:00 p.m. on Talsi VG and FK Talsi Solidsport channel)
The Talsi team is the clear favorite in this fight and has collected 38 points in 18 games and is therefore in second place in the table. By winning in regular time, the team also secures this place in the final standings of the regular season tonight, regardless of the results of the other games. The team is currently on a five-game winning streak, including three in overtime or shootouts. In the last game, the team defeated “Bauska” at home with 12:4 and showed a phenomenal performance from debutant Rudolph Niedrajas (8+3), who scored a game with six goals. Jānis Ragovskis also collected five points, who is the team’s best scorer with 37 (14+23) points and the sixth best scorer in the entire championship. Also worth mentioning is Andrejs Škerbergs, who is the team’s second highest scorer and top goalscorer with 31 (16+15) points. Toms Akmenlauks, on the other hand, collected 27 (13+14) points.
If Talsiniets can secure second place in the table, the “Rockets” could lose their record in the Premier League. A defeat in regular time would mean that the capital team would end the regular season with nine points and would no longer be able to overtake “Bauska”, which will play its last game in February. Every point gained would keep the chances of a massive escape alive. The fact that the team can achieve miracles was shown in the away game in Kočeni (6:5) and at home against “Irlava” (9:8), when they were able to catch up from 4:8 in the last third. Although there have been defeats in the last five games, the team still has problems in attack and plays in the numerical majority, where the team concedes more goals than shots. The previous game in Bauska, which was lost 1:4, was crucial, with the “Rockets” scoring their only goal at the very end. Rainers Miķelsons remains the team’s best scorer with 18 (9+9) points, followed by Renārs Preijers with 16 (10+6) points and Rainers Grīslītis, the best scorer, with 13 (11+2) points.
At home, the “Rockets” were 0-3 behind against the Talsa team in the first half, Grīslītis scored a goal right after the break, but that was all the Riga team was capable of in this fight and had to score 1 :14 accept a difficult surrender. Akmenlauks and Škerbergs shone in this game with a hat-trick in which they provided two and one assist respectively.
Tonight’s game at Talsi State Gymnasium starts at 6:00 p.m. and can be watched on FK’s Solidsport channel “Talsi”.
“FBK SĀC/ENFRIHO” (#9) – “Lekrings” (#4) (at 6:00 p.m. on the YouTube channel of Ādažu SC and FBK SĀC)
After losing six games in a row, Đāžu’s floorball players have practically lost their hopes of reaching the club’s first play-offs. In the 18 games played, the team collected 20 points, which is enough for a stable ninth place, but there are still six points to the coveted eighth place. One of these six defeats came in a very important game in Valmiera (6:10), which kept the mathematical chances of leaving last season’s finalists behind the elimination tournament line. For this to happen, the Đadaži team must first collect all possible points in the last games (in the final round they have to play at home against the Ķekava team) and hope that the Valmieri team loses both in Ulbrok and in tonight will be February at home against “Irlava”. The start of the game was weak against the Valmierians themselves, resulting in a 0-5, and it was not possible to catch up with such a deficit. The next points were scored by Alvis Dāle, who continued the fight for the honor of the league’s top scorer with 38 (25+13) points. Kristers Orlovs added 30 (19+11) points while Dēvid Osītis currently has 21 (10+11) points.
“Lekrings” lost 3:4 away against “Rubene” in the previous game and had to do without Bruno Beķeras (11+12) for one game, who received a red card and a disqualification for the upcoming game. In the table, the Česi team has the chance to even reach second place and thus gain a home advantage not only in the quarter-finals, but also in the possible semi-finals. The last home game against Ulbrook could be decisive. At the same time, the team can also be eliminated from the top quartet, which can happen in the event of a major failure – the lead over “Lielvārde/FatPipe” is four points, with the same number of points Česiński team will be higher. Toms Rīsmanis (13+16) missed the last game in the Latvian-Estonian League, but Emīls Dzalbs (16+10) and Edgars Puriņš (8+7) returned to the team. The team’s third most productive floorball player, Olafs Zvīnis (12+10), remained without points in the last few games, ending his great streak of goal-scoring games.
At home, the Česi team defeated their rivals 5-2, with new goalkeeper Regnar Krejčmans missing seven minutes before the dry victory. Alvim Dāles managed to score both goals for Adažni, giving them the numerical majority. Puriņš now scored a quarter of his goals this season in this game.
Tonight the game starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Đadaži Sports Center and the game will be officiated by the referee duo Aivars Māliņš and Mārtiņš Larinovs. The video broadcast of the game can be viewed on the FBK SĀC YouTube channel.
“FS Masters/Ulbroka” (#3) – “FBK Valmiera/Betsafe” (#8) (at 7:00 p.m. Ulbroka SN and FS Masters on the Solidsport channel)
If there is no shortage of intrigue in the first two games tonight, perhaps the most exciting game will be the final one when the Ulbrok side host the Valmieri. Ulbroka’s team suffered defeats in the last three games and only picked up a point in games against the teams Talsa and Lielvārde. This means that the potentially safe second place is currently difficult to achieve and the team has not even secured home advantage in the quarter-finals. In an intense battle in Lielvārde, Kevin Schmidt scored a hat trick and became the most productive player of the tournament with 40 (27+13) points, thanks to more goals scored ahead of Krister Babri (19+21). Toms Bitmanis is also close with 37 (14+23) points, but Rolands Kovalevskis (28+4), who is still the top scorer, could return to the field tonight.
In the remaining two games, Valmieri should either wait for the Adažniks to stumble or sort things out himself by winning at least a point to secure a start in the play-offs. This season it has been observed that the Valmiera team often loses at the end of similar games, but the Ulbroka team has also had similar endings recently. The Valmiera team is currently in eighth place with 26 points, but only four points ahead of the fifth-best club, so the Valmiera team has every opportunity to quickly improve its position in the table. In the last game, however, SAC did not lose by the desired point difference in order not to fall from eighth place in time. The team’s captain, Mārtiņš Broks, is the most productive with 32 (21+11) points, followed by Matīss Salminņš (9+10) and Pavel Semjonovs (6+13) with 19 points.
In the game in Ulbrok, the home team initially took a 3-1 lead, but lost 4-7 in the second third. In the final third they managed to get within 5:7 and 6:8, but failed to fight for points, although Aigar Belasov’s team tried to play six games against five opponents in the last 11 minutes. Šmits (3+1) was excellent against his former team, while defenders Lauris Alvis Stiprais (1+1) and Ralfs Matīss Balodis (0+2) were the most productive in the Valmiera team.
Today’s match, refereed by Pēteris Freimanis and Vitalijs Ksenzov, will be available on the “FS Masters” channel Solidsport from 7:00 p.m.
