Innovation and Evolution: Shinji Mikami’s Departure from Tango Gameworks
Microsoft’s recent announcement about the closure of several studios, including Tango Gameworks, has left the gaming community in a state of anticipation. With rumors circulating about how this would impact famous Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami, fans eagerly awaited his response. Mikami did not keep them waiting for long.
“Tango closed,” Mikami wrote on X/Twitter today. “Sad.”

Mikami founded Tango Gameworks in 2010 and went on to direct notable titles like The Evil Within and its sequel, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and the surprise-hit Hi-Fi Rush. However, Bethesda revealed in a February 2023 X/Twitter post that Mikami would be departing from Tango Gameworks “in the coming months.” Interestingly enough, it seems that he already embarked on a new journey by starting his own studio called KAMUY.
Mikami recently discussed his departure from Tango in an interview with Byking where he shared candid insights into his decision-making process. He expressed a desire to leave eight years earlier but didn’t want to depart on bad terms with the studio. Instead, Mikami aimed to create space for younger talent to grow while simultaneously pursuing smaller-scale yet unique game projects.
The closure of multiple studios by Microsoft, including Tango Gameworks, has shattered the hopes of many individuals and impacted ongoing projects. According to an email obtained by IGN, Microsoft is also shutting down Redfall studio Arkane Austin and mobile game developer Alpha Dog Games responsible for Mighty Doom. Additionally, Roundhouse Studios will be absorbed by ZeniMax Online Studios.
Unfortunately, this means that the development of Redfall will cease and an upcoming DLC has been canceled. Despite Arkane Austin actively working on a substantial game update, it seems that these cuts have ultimately put an end to their efforts.
In this ever-evolving landscape of the gaming industry, change is inevitable. Shinji Mikami’s decision to leave Tango Gameworks might be disheartening for fans; nevertheless, it demonstrates his dedication to innovation and evolution. By stepping aside from his long-established role within Tango Gameworks, Mikami not only allows fresh talents to thrive but also paves the way for exciting new endeavors.

Revive Your Inner ’80s Kid with 8BitDo Mechanical Keyboard: A Fun and Retro Design
Have you ever been bored of using a standard keyboard that only has black or white and the design doesn’t make you feel like you want to work? 8BitDo A keyboard that will change your work and make it more fun to use. And especially if you’re an ’80s kid, 8BitDo This is what will help you bring your childhood memories back to life. 8BitDo It’s a keyboard inspired by the Famicom game consoles and IBM computers of that era that was revived to add new technologies and features until it was no longer usable. Unfortunately, it does not support Mac computers.
Cool retro design.
Since the design is inspired by the Famicom game console or in America it is called NES, the game console uses 3 main colors: gray, cream white and red, which 8BitDo captured the highlight using these colors used in the design of the machine and the keyboard. The character display keys are creamy white. The function keys will be grey. The letters, symbols and special function keys are red. When the red letters are displayed on the white keys, they are clearly legible and eye-catching. The Bluetooth receiver select button and volume adjustment button are designed as rotary knobs. Stay retro During use, there will be a red round LED light fixed in the upper right corner of the keyboard as a symbol used to indicate the connection of the computer and keyboard. The keys can be taken out, cleaned and put back easily. The set also includes a wireless mouse designed to mimic the Famicom joystick. The size of the 8BitDo keyboard is compact and portable.
Functions in use
The 8BitDo mechanical keyboard is a keyboard that features 3 types of easy-to-connect designs:
The function control keys are positioned above the keyboard like a normal keyboard, but the function keys are marked with easy-to-understand symbols. The keys are designed like old keyboards, with thick keys when you press the keys, this keyboard does not make a loud noise like in the past. It is quieter and more flexible. It can be used for 200 hours on a single charge and takes 4 hours to charge. The keys have a total of 87 keys. There are special large buttons for use with a computer such as Copy and Paste buttons, depending on the configuration the job. During games you can use various buttons to perform all functions. It is a keyboard that can update the firmware through the computer. Once the computer has been connected and the various updates have been carried out, it is possible to set the keyboard keys as we want to use them. This model does not have a Thai language screen on the keyboard. You have to find a sticker to attach it yourself.
Conclusion
The 8BitDo Mechanical Keyboard is a fun to use keyboard with a design that appeals to people from the 80s or those who love retro collectibles. The materials used and the workmanship are good. Beautiful colors and features such as setting the buttons to adapt to our use. I like the volume adjustment buttons and the Bluetooth function selection buttons that use rotation to adapt to the position we use. 8BitDo can only be used with Windows and Android. It does not support using with Apple and iOS, very disappointing.

It’s that easy to trick Defender on Windows
Anyone who uses Windows actually gets solid protection with Defender. But the Microsoft tool can be easily bypassed.
According to AV-TEST, Microsoft Defender was one of the best virus protection applications in 2023. In the test, the Enterprise version achieved top marks in terms of speed, usability and protection. Security expert John Pagewho operates under the pseudonym hyp3rlinx, was able to find a simple means by which the protection of Microsoft Defender can be easily circumvented.
If you don’t want to deal with Windows security vulnerabilities, switching to a Mac might make sense. Our video with the cult Apple commercial by legendary director Ridley Scott might give you a taste.

Microsoft Defender: A simple trick is enough
In fact, Page drew attention to a gap in Microsoft’s antivirus program as early as 2022. Accordingly, the security researcher found a security hole that could easily be exploited with a path traversal – i.e. just with the character string “.. “. The Redmond IT group has already fixed this error, but a more recent security notice from Page points to another vulnerability.
Normally, Microsoft Defender protects the important utility „rundll32.exe“ from outside access. However, the security researcher was recently able to identify a gap that attackers can exploit even without in-depth hacking knowledge – just with a comma. If the user types the command Rundll32.exe javascript:”….mshtml,RunHTMLApplication “;alert(666) into the console, access is denied. However, access can be granted with one or more additional commas in this command This will take place on the entire local network, for example rundll32.exe javascript:”….mshtml,,RunHTMLApplication “;alert(666) When typed into the console, no warning is issued, but rather “666” – which can then be used to execute malicious code.
Things aren’t quite as serious in the photo series:
How dangerous is the gap?
John Page rates the vulnerability as high in severity, but the BSI (Federal Office for Information Security) also issues a warning. However, the authority only describes the gap as “moderately severe”. How far Microsoft is in closing the gap cannot be said at this point. However, the company is known for regularly providing its own Defender with updates and patches. Even though Microsoft assured in October 2023 that the security application automatically detects and defends against human attacks, this gap is still an embarrassment for the company.
