What is the pension bonus and what requirements are there to benefit from it?
The pension bonus is a financial advantage that is granted to you if you continue your professional activity without drawing your (early) pension. Several requirements must be met:
- You continue to work beyond the first possible retirement date. Attention: only the periods in which you worked after July 1, 2024 are taken into account in your pension bonus;
- You will receive your retirement pension at the earliest January 1, 2025.
How high is the pension bonus?
The amount depends, among other things, on the duration of continued employment. Please note: You can build up a pension bonus over time a maximum of three years.

*You can take early retirement now 61 or 62 years old Are you self-employed or an employee and are postponing your retirement? The amount of your pension bonus is then: 11,325 euros per additional year of work after July 1, 2024.
Does it make sense to delay retirement in order to build up a pension bonus?

The pension service is solely responsible for determining the amount of your old-age pension and deciding whether you are entitled to the pension bonus. All useful information can be found on the pension service website.
