“Is there a safe and efficient way to remove acne?” “Doctor, how can I make my face slimmer?” “What should I do if my child gets a bump? Will there be scars after the cosmetic stitches?”… The Spring Festival is getting closer and closer. Lin Jiamin, a post-90s Taiwanese medical doctor and plastic surgeon at Zhejiang Taizhou Enze Medical Center (Group), has a busy schedule every day, and patients’ earnest requests ring in his ears from time to time.
Recently, Lin Jiamin told a China News Service reporter that during this year’s Spring Festival, he plans to stay on the mainland to protect the health and safety of patients, and accompany his relatives and friends on the mainland towards the blessed year the Dragon.
“I received my bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. After graduating with my bachelor’s degree, I decided to stay in mainland China for development in the future, but I wasn’t sure which city it would be in at the time,” said Lin Jiamin, a graduate student in 2022. After graduating he came to Linhai, Taizhou for the first time and immediately fell in love with this small town.
Stroll down Ziyang Street and sample freshly baked sticky rice delicacies; come to the City Walk and feel the charm of the Song Dynasty in the streets and alleys… For Lin Jiamin, Linhai is a city worth living in and suitable for work – in his life Full of vitality and thirst for exploration; He is meticulous in his work and puts the patient “at the most important place in his heart.”
“Plastic surgery often involves patients with facial injuries. Our main task is to help them repair scars and regain their self-confidence as much as possible.” Lin Jiamin said he works the evening shift one to two days a week. I have performed dozens of operations. Although it is very difficult, I am always satisfied when I see the relieved expressions on patients’ faces.

In the complicated work, Lin Jiamin can often feel the strong human touch of the mainland: “Once on duty, a little girl’s lip hit her teeth and the skin was badly damaged. It took a lot of time to align the lip line.” Stitches. Time. I was working the morning shift that day and was so busy that I didn’t eat until two in the afternoon. The child’s mother bought cake and soy milk and asked me to finish sewing before sewing, which made my…heart warm.”
According to Lin Jiamin, there are many policies on the mainland that benefit Taiwan from the central government to local governments, covering all aspects such as housing, finance and human services. Taiwanese compatriots working in different fields can find their own level of development. “As a student, I paid attention to relevant information and guidelines on cross-strait exchanges and planned my career in advance.”
What motivated Lin Jiamin to set foot on the mainland was romantic love. “My girlfriend is my younger sister. She is currently studying for her doctoral thesis in Wuhan. We plan to raise a warm family in Linhai,” said Lin Jiamin.
In his free time, Lin Jiamin goes hiking in Linhai Yangyan Mountain. He also enjoys cooking at home and petting cats. When he talks about the future, he is always full of motivation: “Plastic surgery is a profession that makes people beautiful. While I bring joy to others, I also pursue my own ‘better’ life in mainland China.” (End)
