Marouane Fellaini (36) has ended his China chapter, but the former Red Devil cannot yet say whether his professional career will end immediately. He will wait a while for the offers.
Marouane Fellaini was standard at his former club’s training camp this week, and today he appeared for Francs Borains. Fellaini is an investor in the club and will also work there as a consultant.
As far as his sporting future is concerned, the 36-year-old midfielder is still keeping his options open. “I think I can play football for another year or two,” he said today.
But the former Manchester United player doesn’t rule out a final farewell either.
“It’s shaky in my head, but at the moment I’m enjoying time with my family and studying what’s on offer. These are proposals from Belgium and abroad and I will choose the right project.”
“I train to stay in shape and am looking at all options, whether they come from Turkey, the Middle East or Europe,” said Fellaini, who has given himself a month to plan his (sporting) future .
Fellaini is also gradually making plans off the field. Since last summer he has been an investor in Francs Borains, which was promoted to the Challenger Pro League, the club owned by Georges-Louis Bouchez, where he was once a youth player.
“With my experience I can bring something to the club, for example giving advice and talking to the players. That’s how I see myself after my career: more of a consultant than a trainer.”
“I spoke to the directors and immediately had a good feeling about this project. It’s nice that I can help Francs Borains in this way.”
