Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on his social media account regarding the Malatya earthquake:
“With the 5.2 magnitude earthquake in Battalgazi, Malatya, which was felt in the surrounding provinces, AFAD and all teams from our relevant institutions began field scanning work. There is currently no negative situation.
We are following developments closely. I wish my best wishes to our citizens affected by the earthquake. May God protect our country and nation from disasters.”

“Let’s stay away from heavily damaged buildings”
Malatya Governor Ersin Yazıcı expressed his wish for the people of Malatya to get well soon due to the earthquake.
Stating that no termination notice has been received by the 112 Command Center so far, Yazıcı said, “We have not received any negative notice for now. Our teams are continuing their checks on the field.”
Governor Yazıcı made special statements to TRT Haber:
“We took it seriously. So far there has been no report to 112, police or gendarmerie. We received reports that plaster had fallen from some buildings. The pat-down on the field continues.”
I would like to make a request to our citizens. Please stay away from heavily damaged buildings. “Earthquakes of this magnitude can cause problems for severely damaged buildings.”
“2 UMKE teams are in action to scan the region”
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca pointed out that the earthquake was felt but there was no negative situation, saying: “Two UMKE teams are deployed to scan the region. Get well soon, Malatya.”
“Our relevant institutions carry out their work on site.”
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz said the following about the earthquake:
“I wish a speedy recovery to our citizens affected by the earthquake in Battalgazi, Malatya. Our responsible institutions carry out their work on site. According to the initial findings, there is no negative situation. May God protect our country and protect nation from all kinds of disasters.
