KOMPAS.com– It’s been 30 years since Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga was first published in 1994, and people still keep asking about the ending.
The Detective Conan manga, published in Weekly Shonen Sunday in January 1994, evolved into an animated television series that premiered in 1996 and was then produced for the big screen and video games.
Still, the ending of the story of a high school detective named Shinichi Kudo, who was trapped in a child’s body while investigating a mysterious organization that later called itself Conan Edogawa, often raises questions.
Gosho Aoyama, the author of Detective Conan, apparently once told Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece, about the ending of Detective Conan.

Gosho Aoyama admitted to Eiichiro Oda that he created Detective Conan’s ending about seven years ago.
He made it back then because he was being treated in the hospital. So he decided to draw it first.
“I’m not sure what comes first, an accident or tomorrow, so make preparations in advance,” he said.
Gosho Aoyama also revealed that he was afraid that one day he would suddenly not be able to continue drawing.

That’s why he had prepared the ending in advance so as not to disappoint everyone.
Due to the continuous serialization but without end, various predictions about the end of Detective Conan often circulate on the Internet.
Even Dr. Agasa is suspected of being the big boss of this dark organization.
However, Gosho Aoyama did not want to comment on this speculation.
Gosho Aoyama just described the moment he met fans of the Detective Conan manga when he traveled to Brazil to watch the World Cup.
A male employee at the airport held her passport and looked at it repeatedly. Gosho Aoyama, feeling strange, then asked.
“There is a problem?” Gosho asked at that time.
The staff responded: “I’m very worried about the finale (Conan), please return home safely.”
Gosho Aoyama laughed as he recalled the incident and admitted that he was surprised to receive such a reaction from his fans.
Therefore, for Detective Conan fans, Gosho Aoyama directly confirmed that there will be a happy ending in the Detective Conan story he wrote, and fans don’t have to worry about it.
“Don’t worry about not being able to see the end of your life!” he said.
