New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the violent incidents in Manipur. Their criticism comes in the wake of the killing of four villagers in firing by militants in Taubal district on Monday. They also claimed that the Prime Minister has not visited the state yet.
“Four people died in Manipur. Many people were injured. There is a curfew in many districts. For eight months, the people of Manipur have been faced with murder, violence and destruction. When will this end? A joint delegation of all party leaders from Manipur reached Delhi and sought time to meet the Prime Minister, but the Prime Minister has not yet made time.
He too had not been to Manipur yet. I didn’t talk about Manipur. Parliament has not responded. No action was taken. Is this leadership what Manipur needs? Is the power of advertising enough to be great? “The government should take immediate steps to bring stability and peace to the state,” she said on the X (Twitter) platform.

Four people were killed and 14 injured in an exchange of fire by militants in Manipur’s Imphal Valley on New Year’s Day. In Lilong, the Meitei Muslim (Pangal) area of Thoubal, gunmen from Meitei militants in police uniform opened fire on the crowd with machine guns. The angry mob set fire to two of the attackers’ vehicles. Subsequently, an indefinite curfew was imposed in the Imphal Valley.
