The Global Science Festival Kerala, organized by the Science and Technology Environment Council of the Kerala State Department of Science and Technology and Museum ArtScience, will be held from January 15 to February 15 at Bio 360 Life Sciences Park, Judakkal. In collaboration with the Kerala State Science and Technology Museum, there are programs that also include night sky observation.
A citizen science exhibition, marine aquarium, science conference, seminars, conclaves, food court and trade fair will also be associated with the festival.
Science preacher and teacher Dr. The scientific content is prepared under the supervision of Vaisakhan Thambi. Around thirty artists prepare the exhibitions under the direction of the sculptor Lakshmanan Komathmanalam. Around a million people from Kerala and abroad are expected to attend the festival. Museum ArtScience is a non-profit public foundation that acts as a center for the promotion of science and art in Thiruvananthapuram.
Discussions and lecture programs
As part of the festival, discussion and lecture programs on various topics are organized. What is also special is that the scientists from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory are giving the lecture in Kerala for the first time. Nobel laureate Morton P. Meldel, Dr. from NASA. The festival complex is designed to be accessible to everyone, with disabled ramps, etc. A minimum of 8 hours is enough to fully experience the festival. The entry fee is 250 rupees for adults and 150 rupees for those below 18 years. Tickets are available for 400 and 250 rupees respectively for two days. Admission is free for people with disabilities and children under 10.
For a group of at least 30 students from schools, 100 rupees per person will be charged. School classes can also receive tickets as a group package including meals. There will be separate ticket sales for five shows, although the number of people in the festival complex is technically limited. Tickets can be booked in advance via the website gsfk.org. The Bundesbank is the GSFK’s banking partner. Tickets are also available through Federal Bank. Film star Manju Warrier will open ticket sales on January 1.
Online grocery shopping and paid Wi-Fi are available within the festival complex. Additionally, All Kerala Caterers Association will organize a food fair with flavors from 14 districts. There will be parking for around 500 vehicles at a time. There will also be a bus service from the city and other major centers to the festival complex.
