The six-day working week that will be established immediately in Greece is reported by several German media. The German Journalism Network (RND) notes: “Germany is discussing the four-day, Greece is establishing the six-day, albeit on a voluntary basis.” This measure aims to address the lack of skilled personnel which is also a problem in Greece (…) From July 1, employees can decide if they want to work more than five days a week. If the sixth working day of the week is a Saturday, 40% more money should be given. If it’s a Sunday or holiday, workers get 115% more money.”
And the publication continues: “However, not all sectors are affected. The six-day should be feasible in both the public and private sectors, although civil servants are exempt. Full-time workers in Greece worked the most in Europe in 2022, at 42.8 hours per week. In Germany, full-time workers work an average of 40.4 hours per week.”
Greeks also need a second job to live
The RTL network mentions the same issue on its website with the title: “Greece establishes a six-day week! Is this possible for us too?’
The publication notes: “While Germany is discussing the four-day, Greece is following a completely different path. From July 1, Greeks can decide if they want to work six days a week. It’s definitely worth it for their wallet.”
And a little further on he writes: “A maximum of eight additional hours of work is permitted, while the night shift on the sixth day is prohibited. Only civil servants are exempt from the six-day period. The idea is for the country to address the lack of skilled personnel in the market. In addition, many Greeks need a second job to make ends meet. Could the problem be solved this way too?’

The recent visit of Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Economy and Finance to Morocco, brings hope to the Egis group, a French specialist in construction consulting and engineering, with an office in Casablanca. The company is the main partner of the National Railway Office (ONCF) in the field of high-speed trains.
Traveling with Medef to Rabat, the French Minister of the Economy, Bruno Le Maire, expressed on April 26 France’s interest in the high-speed train projects that Morocco is implementing within the framework of of the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. One of these projects is the extension of the high-speed rail line linking Kenitra to Marrakech. Designed for a maximum speed of 350 km/h, the Kenitra-Marrakech line will operate at 320 km/h, over a route of approximately 450 km. It is planned to directly connect Tangier to Marrakech without going through Casablanca. Two routes were proposed when the train arrived in Casablanca. The high-speed train line is also planned to pass through an alternative route at Benslimane (the stadium) to Nouaceur. This will accommodate the establishment of a new station or distribution center. The Kéntira-Marrakech TGV project aims to revolutionize travel between the two cities. It is an integral part of ONCF’s colossal plan to interconnect Morocco’s cities, ports and airports via high-speed rail links operating at speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour. Its cost is estimated at more than 50 billion dirhams.

Egis is delighted with this visit from Minister Bruno Le Maire. “We are finally breathing,” confides Arnaud de Rugy, the Africa director of the French group to Le Monde. It was crucial for us that cooperation resumed, even if we continued to work in these difficult times. » The French group opened its continental subsidiary in Casablanca two years ago, in the midst of the crisis between France and Morocco. It is the main partner of the National Railway Office (ONCF) in the field of high-speed trains. For 15 years, he has been supporting Morocco on high-speed line projects. The ONCF has also entrusted Egis with the mission of assisting in the management of the Kéntira-Marrakech TGV project. An Indian court has handed over senior Delhi politician Arvind Kejriwal to an investigative agency for seven days in judicial custody, dealing a major blow to the country’s opposition, which is contesting Narendra Modi in the upcoming general elections.
Arvind Kejriwal, chief minister of New Delhi and prime political rival of Prime Minister Modi, will now be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on corruption charges.
The Financial Crimes Agency on Thursday night arrested Aam Aadmi Party chief Kejriwal on corruption charges related to liquor policy for New Delhi. Kejriwal is the first Chief Minister in India to be arrested while in office.
The arrest is being described as a crackdown on Indian opposition leaders by the Modi administration ahead of polls to elect a new government starting in April.
Hundreds of protesters took to the streets in Delhi for the second day on Saturday and demanded Kejriwal’s immediate release. The protesters raised slogans of ‘End of Kejriwal Modi’ and ‘Dictatorship will not be tolerated’. He has accused Modi of ruling the country by imposing emergency. This is a claim that the opposition has been making for a long time. The opposition also accused Modi of using federal law enforcement agencies to suppress opposition parties ahead of elections.
Central probe officers have accused the Aam Aadmi Party chief of being a ‘conspirator’ behind the Delhi government’s liquor policy, which has now been revoked.
The policy was initially hailed as successful in modernizing the sale of liquor in the urban area as the policy allowed retailers to make extremely high profits of around 185 percent, which was not possible.
The investigating agency has also accused Kejriwal of accepting a bribe of Rs 1 billion from liquor contractors about two years ago. Kejriwal’s party has denied the allegations and called them political.
Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal said in an online press conference on Saturday that she had brought Kejriwal’s message from jail.
He said that ‘Your son and brother Arvind Kejriwal has sent a message to you from jail saying, ‘My dear compatriots, I was arrested yesterday. Whether I am in or out, I will continue to serve the country every moment.’
Sunita Kejriwal said that in her message, her husband said that every moment of my life is dedicated to the nation. Every drop of (my) blood is for the nation. I was born on this earth only to struggle. I have struggled till now and it seems I am destined to struggle more in the coming days.’
Sunita added that Kejriwal made an open appeal to the citizens to ‘make Bharat (India’s name in Hindi) great again.’
The 55-year-old prominent politician has been remanded till March 28 for ‘detailed and continuous questioning’ in what the ED (Enforcement Directorate) has termed as a liquor policy scandal. Kejriwal’s deputy Manish Sisodia, who also served as Delhi’s education minister, has also been in jail for over a year in the case.

Another senior MP Sanjay Singh from the Aam Aadmi Party has also been arrested by the ED on charges of money laundering in this policy.
Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Saturday said that roads leading to their party office in New Delhi have been blocked by the Delhi Police, affecting their access to their office.
Aam Aadmi Party politicians said in an email to the Election Commission of India: ‘Delhi Police blocked the roads leading to our office this afternoon and no one was allowed to enter the office despite all requests. We fail to understand how a political party can contest elections in such a repressive environment?’
Delhi finance minister and senior Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said party members have sought an “urgent meeting to ensure equal opportunities in the Lok Sabha elections” from the Election Commission.
Several Aam Aadmi Party leaders were detained soon after Kejriwal’s arrest on Thursday. A few weeks before the election, dozens of people took to the streets to protest against his arrest.
Atishi, who goes by the same name, said the arrest of the Delhi chief minister was aimed at preventing him from campaigning in the general elections.
Kejriwal, a key part of the united opposition bloc called ‘India’, was planning to strengthen his case for votes against the Modi government in the coming elections. They wanted to prevent the leader of the Hindu majority government from becoming the Prime Minister for the third time.
The Indian authorities have also faced international criticism for this crackdown. The German Foreign Ministry, citing democracy in India, has said that it expects Kejriwal to get a fair and impartial trial.
However, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in its response that this is “blatant interference” in the country’s internal affairs.
Political commentators monitoring India’s electoral climate have condemned the arrest.
Political analyst Neerja Chaudhary said, “It looks like harassment because only opposition leaders are being targeted.” There is no investigation against anyone in the BJP.’
‘It’s not a level playing field.’
