Over its time, Activision has acquired many great studios that have created truly unique and wildly popular IPs. One of those studios was Neversoft, which, as it turned out, was developing its own version of Call of Duty!
The older generation of gamers will certainly recognize the Neversoft team from the now cult series Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Gun, Apocalypse, Spider-Man from the PSX era and even the Guitar Hero series. The developers had a lot of great hits, but relatively few “shooting” games, which might have been something of a nail in the coffin for the aforementioned studio’s canceled and just-revealed original Call of Duty.

The NX1 project, which was supposedly called Call of Duty: Future Warfare, was in a fairly advanced stage of production at Neversoft and immersed us in a typically futuristic atmosphere, which at first glance is a little reminiscent of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. An anonymous Twitter user just uploaded two recordings of the production in question.
One of them is a fragment of the story campaign, another concerns a game in multiplayer mode. The footage is from 2011, so it’s likely that 2012 or 2013 Call of Duty could have been this title. Unfortunately, the project was canceled, but Neversoft was hired to work on CoD from 2011 to 2014 and subsequently merged with Infinity Ward.
