New Delhi: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Responds to Accusations by Justin Trudeau Government
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has strongly criticized the Justin Trudeau government for falsely accusing India in the case of the killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a proscribed terrorist, in Surry, British Columbia in June 2023. The incident, which was a result of internal Khalistani politics, involved the arrest of three individuals—Karan Brar, Kamalpreet Singh, and Karanpreet Singh—by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for their alleged involvement in Nijjar’s murder, which seems to be linked to gang warfare.
Unfounded Allegations Against India
Despite Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s accusations against the Modi government in the Canadian Parliament on September 18, 2023, no concrete evidence has been presented to support the claims. During a recent event in Bhubaneswar, EAM Jaishankar clarified that the entire controversy surrounding Nijjar’s killing is unrelated to India and is merely a ploy to garner minority votes in Canada, especially with the support of the Khalistan-linked New Democratic Party led by Jagmeet Singh.
India has requested the extradition of 25 individuals from the Canadian government, including terrorists, gangsters, and Khalistani extremists, but has faced a lack of cooperation from the Trudeau administration.
List of Individuals Taking Shelter in Canada
- Lakhbir Singh aka Landa (terrorist) from Tarn Taran
- Satbir Singh aka Satta (gangster) from Tarn Taran
- Parminder Singh Khaira aka Pattu (gangster) from Ferozepur
- Arshdeep Singh aka Arsh Dala (gangster turned terrorist) from Moga
- Jahar Singh aka Para aka Prince Chauhan (gangster) from Ropar
Despite the extensive list of criminals seeking refuge in Canada, the authorities have failed to take action, allowing these individuals to operate criminal activities in India with impunity. The Trudeau government’s reluctance to address these issues and instead blame India for political gains is a matter of concern.
Conclusion
The ongoing saga surrounding the Nijjar case highlights the complexities of international relations and the challenges posed by cross-border criminal activities. It is imperative for governments to collaborate and address such issues collectively to ensure the safety and security of their citizens.

“Our wine is good value for money”… As for the opportunity to promote his country’s exports to China, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic anticipated a warm welcome by announcing that he would personally pour wine for Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to the state on the 7th (local time). According to the Associated Press on the 4th, President Vucic said in an interview with China’s state-run China Central Television (CCTV) on the 30th of last month that he plans to serve wine produced locally in Serbia to the President Xi at the dinner.
“Serbian food will be served, and President Xi will be given a special bottle of Serbian wine,” he said “Our wine is cost-effective compared to France, Italy and other countries.
“I want to present a very good wine,” he also said, President Vucic announced that he would personally serve wine to President Xi.
“I will serve everything,” he said. “I will serve the wine, not the waiter or the protocol officer.
“President Xi will like it,” he said previously, President Vucic visited Beijing, China in October last year and signed a free trade agreement (FTA) between the two countries.
Serbia is said to be China’s 22nd FTA signatory country.
President Vucic plans to use the dinner with President Xi as an opportunity to promote wine, one of the country’s main exports. Serbia has been trying to join the European Union (EU) since 2012, but it is not following the Western path in terms of Russia and China because it is completely dependent on Russian gas and China, which is close to Russia, is a big investor.
Meanwhile, President Xi will visit three European countries, including France, Serbia, and Hungary, from the 5th to the 10th.
This is President Xi’s first visit to Serbia in eight years. The 7th, the day of President Xi’s visit to Serbia, also marks the 25th anniversary of the bombing of the Chinese embassy in Belgrade, Serbia, by US-led North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) forces in 1999, during the height of the Kosovo conflict.

Although the financial balance of the first year of the project had large losses, which were planned according to the company in charge of the exploitation of the TV rights, the alliance between the two remains intact and an important agreement has just been sealed with the international network FOX Deportes.
Through a press release, 1190 Sports reported that on Friday, May 3, it signed an agreement with the first sports television company in Spanish and the one with the longest standing in the United States, so starting this month, the content schedule of the main national football competition will be available for your audience. This is one of the great objectives for the benefit of the sport, the clubs, the players and the brands that support it.”
According to a study cited (Pew Research Center), until 2021 there were 710 thousand Hispanics of Peruvian origin living in USAR and it is believed that the number continues to increase, which is why the business opportunity with League 1 is considered “ an important exhibition window.”
