While having maps from your Android or Apple smartphone in your car is nothing new (at least in more recent vehicles), having the same convenience on a motorbike was not possible. We’re talking in the past tense because someone thought of it: it’s Midland with its Bikeplay Guardian display.
In fact, one of the most interesting features of the new device proposed by the Emilian company is its ability to duplicate the screen and functions of your smartphone, regardless of the operating system, be it Android or Apple. Thanks to this function, motorcyclists can now use the maps and related navigation apps (Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps) already installed on their smartphone, but also access the Google assistant or Siri and, in general, take advantage of all the main functionality of your mobile device once on two wheels. Everything happens via Wi-Fi and using the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay apps, thus obtaining an intuitive interface designed by the two IT giants for use in the car, and, in this case, on a motorbike.
This touchscreen display has a size of 5 inches, is waterproof and, obviously, can also be used with gloves. You can also customize the interface to always have your favorite music, calls, messages, maps and assistants at hand.
In addition to mirroring, Bikeplay Guardian is offered with two high resolution Qfhd cameras, to be positioned in the front and rear areas of the motorbike. In this way, on the display, you get a complete view of the surrounding environment. Furthermore, thanks to the function that allows continuous recording, Bikeplay Guardian also “transforms” into a useful dashcam to have “proof” in the event of any road accidents. Also in this case, a dedicated app is available for setting the cameras.
Included in the Midland proposal are also two sensors to monitor tire pressure to know at any time if they are always inflated correctly. Also included in the package are, in addition to the display, all the connection cables, the various supports, and everything needed for assembly. This is perhaps not particularly simple if you don’t know how to masterfully navigate cables, batteries and the power supply of external devices. It should be noted that with the mirror support (sold separately for 10 euros), the display can also be used in combination with a scooter. Midland Bikeplay Guardian is already available at a cost of 299 euros.

Under the blockade that has been going on for almost half a year, economic problems are deepening in Artsakh.
As reported by the information headquarters of Artsakh, 860 business entities (20.1% of the total) have suspended their activities due to the impossibility of working in the blockade conditions, and the rest of the business entities operate with partial volume or with state support.
Due to the blockade and disruption of vital infrastructure, an estimated 11,000 people have lost their actual jobs and income (including cases of government-supported temporary employment) since the beginning of the blockade, which is more than 50 percent of private sector workers.
The construction works of 32.6 kilometers of roads, tens of kilometers of water lines, irrigation systems for thousands of hectares of land, 3,717 apartments, and more than 40 social and industrial infrastructures have been stopped.
During the blockade, the economy of the Republic of Artsakh was damaged by around 355 million US dollars, leading to the non-provision of the predicted annual index of GDP (903 million dollars) by about 39 percent.
