Elon Musk expressed his opposition to a possible ban on the TikTok application in the United States, days before the vote on the law.
This comes at a time when US representatives are preparing to vote over the weekend on a law that may ultimately lead to banning the platform, which is very popular in the United States.
Musk said in a post on the “X” platform, which he purchased at the end of 2022: “In my opinion, TikTok should not be banned in the United States, knowing that this ban may benefit the X platform.”
He considered that “a similar decision conflicts with freedom of expression.” This is not what the United States stands for.”
American officials believe that TikTok allows Beijing to spy on and manipulate its users in the United States.
The US House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on Saturday on an aid package for Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, and on a law regarding the social network.
If the law comes into effect, the Chinese owner of the TikTok application (ByteDance) will be forced to sell it within a few months, otherwise it will be banned from the US Apple and Google app stores.
A TikTok spokesperson said last Thursday: “It is unfortunate that the House of Representatives is using the pretext of significant foreign and humanitarian aid to pass a law that would violate the free expression rights of 170 million Americans.”
In the comments under Musk’s post, “X” users expressed concern that banning TikTok would set a precedent that could be used against other social networks.
The law directed against ByteDance would give the US President the authority to classify other applications as threats to national security if a country considered hostile to the United States controls them.

Liga, Real Madrid are not distracted: they beat Mallorca and hold Barcelona to -8
The return match against Manchester City in the Champions League does not distract Real Madrid who wins (0-1) in Mallorca and keeps Barcelona at a safe distance (8 points), who passed in vain with the same result (0-1) in Cadiz. The Blancos, with Carvajal, Kroos, Camavinga, Rodrygo and Vinicius, kept on the bench, only took a risk after half an hour when Lunin instinctively blocked Raillo’s header from a corner. But then they took over and after a crossbar from Bellingham they broke the deadlock at the start of the second half (47′) with a slightly deflected shot from Tchouameni.
Barcelona moves on to Cadiz and remains -8 behind Real
Even Barcelona needed a goal in the 37th minute from Joao Felix to win in Cadiz. Xavi made a large turnover in view of the return match against PSG and the highly anticipated Clasico, scheduled for Sunday at the Berabeu, starting with only 3 players who had taken to the field from the 1st minute in Paris: ter Stegen, Cubarsi and Sergi Roberto. Despite this, the Catalans dominated, coming close to doubling their lead on several occasions in the second half.
Atletico overtakes Girona, Champions League close
In terms of the Champions League, important victory (3-1) for Atletico Madrid in the direct clash with Girona. Simeone’s men responded to the cold goal scored after just 4′ by Dovbyk, the championship’s top scorer with 17 goals, with a super Griezmann, who scored a brace (34′ from a penalty and 50′) and thanks to Correa who scored the 2-1 goal in the 6th minute of injury time in the first half. The victory allows the Colchoneros to temporarily move up to +5 over fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao, who host Villarreal on Sunday (6.30 pm).

Aryna Sabalenka: I love this girl and I feel so bad
– I think that in a competitive atmosphere it is very important to have a friend. I love this girl and I feel so bad. Paula isn’t feeling well and I was literally about to cry a moment ago. It was a close call. I feel sorry for her and really hope she recovers as soon as possible and will be ready to play in Madrid. I will say once again that I am really grateful to have a friend like Paula, said Aryna Sabalenka after the meeting, which lasted two hours and 20 minutes.
The Belarusian had problems from the beginning of the match. In the first set she was already losing 2:4, and at 5:6 she had to defend two set balls on her serve. She played well in the tie-break, which she won 7:4. In the second game, Sabalenka lost her serve twice and the score was 2:5, but she ultimately lost 4:6.
– The first set was at a great level. I think I gave it my all, fought hard and won it. In the second game, Paula played at an incredible level, she really wanted to win it and she succeeded, added the Belarusian.
Sabalenka and Badosa played against each other in Stuttgart for the third year in a row. Each time, the second-ranked player in the world ranking won.
