When Sarah Rahimipour was born, we weren’t yet wondering whether screens were harmful to children. She was therefore (lucky?) to have grown up in front of this beautiful object. And everything was there, the 8 p.m. news with the family, Madame being served at dinner, the Club Dorothée on Wednesdays. In short, the good life! Then television became his passion and over time other programs aroused his interest: especially the talk shows of Jean-Luc Delarue and Thierry Ardisson.
Fifteen years ago, Bruce Toussaint made very harsh comments toward a news star, not just any celebrity. TF1’s new recruit returned to his statements, made his mea culpa and told what happened behind the scenes.
Bruce Toussaint has a scathing comment on a big TF1 star: his mea culpa after his very harsh comments

Bruce Toussaint surprised everyone a few weeks ago by leaving BFMTV and moving to TF1. The keys were handed over to the 50-year-old man the morning show on Europe’s leading channel, Bonjour!. A new show that will be launched on January 8th. This makes him the TV man of the 2024 school year and here he is on the cover of the magazine TV Mag. When Bruce Toussaint talks about his new challenge in this interview, he also wants to return to a terrible mistake from the past.
The case dates back to 2008, shortly after the announcement of the fall of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor. At that time, the man we know for his seriousness but also his always calm tone allowed himself to be held pretty harsh remarks towards Jean-Pierre Pernaut. who had replaced Claire Chazal’s former companion. “Every year it heralds the arrival of frost in Villefranche-les-Alouettes. TF1 would have done better to keep PPDA and fire this guy because his work is 90% non-journalism. THE 13 hours has become a kind of reflection of sleepy France, ideal for taking a nap” he told the magazine Type of technology.
Bruce Toussaint regrets his comments about Jean-Pierre Pernaut
In retrospect and although the death of Jean-Pierre Pernaut on March 2, 2022 is still on everyone’s lips, Bruce Toussaint used his interview with TV Mag to go back to what he said and tell what happened next. “I realize how stupid people can talk at work. This one was pretty big. I had the opportunity to do that I apologize wholeheartedly to Jean-Pierre Pernaut and talking to him, and he was incredibly elegant, whereas, well…” he begins. And continues: “Not only had I said something stupid, I had also been wrong. That’s what I think today Pernaut understood it before anyone else that television news should not only be an information event but also a magazine. That it is important to have a richer, broader and more diverse offering than the twelve news reports of the morning. You had to be a visionary to do that. With my somewhat stupid young “padawan” eyes, I didn’t understand. THE 13 hours and that 20 hours have developed considerably, undoubtedly under his influence.“Mistakes half forgiven. In any case, TF1 doesn’t hold grudges!”
Bonjour! with Bruce Toussaint will air every day of the week between 7 and 9:30 a.m. starting January 8th.
