The stock market growth of the precursor companies of these treatments is in the hundreds of billions
It is not a very risky statement to say that Novo Nordisk and semaglutide, marketed as Ozempic or Wegovy, have been the great protagonists of the year in the pharmaceutical industry. The economic consequences of this success are diverse, and many are yet to come.
Ozempic is a drug developed more than a decade ago to fight type 2 diabetes. What could have been considered an unwanted side effect (nausea and loss of appetite) became an advantage for people who wanted to lose weight. By 2023, the company that developed the treatment achieved its approval, under the Wegovy brand, as a drug to control overweight and obesity.
Semaglutide is an antagonist of GLP-1 receptors, that is, it acts in our body as if it were this hormone that our body produces naturally.
The same does Zepbound (whose active compound is tirzepatide), the second treatment against diabetes approved also against overweight in the United States in recent months, this one manufactured by the American Eli Lilly. The difference with this treatment is that it also interacts with GIP receptors.
One of the most notable impacts has been reflected in the stock market value of these companies. Since the beginning of 2023, the company’s share price has increased by more than 70%.
Lilly’s case is also striking. The American ended 2022 immersed in a scandal that emerged as a result of the change in verification policy on Twitter and a series of Tweets that were supplanting the pharmaceutical company. Its shares fell 4% in one day, but the bad stock market streak continued several months after the event to end up falling nearly 10% in the spring of 2023. Since this minimum, the shares have grown more than 140%.
The rise in recent months has been especially pronounced. From the approval at the end of 2023 of Zepbound as a treatment for overweight in the United States, the company’s shares have grown by 35%. All this translates into an increase in the stock market value of both companies equivalent to more than 550,000 million euros from the beginning of 2023.
If we look at the profits reported by both companies in 2023 we will find discrepancies, yes. The Danish company declared a net profit of 83,683 million Danish crowns (just over 11,000 million euros): almost 51% more than in the previous year. The company’s turnover grew by 31.2%.
The American pharmaceutical company, for its part, obtained lower net profits than in the previous year. With net profits of more than 5,240 million dollars (about 4,900 million euros), the pharmaceutical company worsened its 2022 results by 16%. The reason was its investments, since its turnover had grown by almost 20%, largely thanks to the arrival of Zepbound.
Sony’s Ghost of Tsushima Gets Steam Port and Requires PlayStation Network Account for Multiplayer
Ghost of Tsushima Coming to Steam: PlayStation Network Account Required for Multiplayer Mode
Introduction
Sucker Punch Productions’ open-world samurai game Ghost of Tsushima is set to make its debut on Steam this month. However, there is a catch – in order to access the multiplayer mode, players will be required to have a PlayStation Network account. This recent announcement has drawn comparisons to the controversy surrounding the multiplayer game Helldivers 2, which also required a PlayStation Network login for Steam users. Let’s delve into the details.
The 2020 Action Game Makes Its Way to PC
The highly acclaimed action game Ghost of Tsushima will be releasing on PC on May 16. However, some potential players are expressing hesitation to purchase Sony games through the Steam platform, following the Helldivers debacle. The Helldivers controversy prompted a concerned user to tweet at Sucker Punch Productions, explaining they had canceled their pre-order due to Sony’s policy. Sucker Punch, in response, assured players that the game’s campaign mode will not require an additional sign-in, but the Legends multiplayer mode will still necessitate a PSN account.
Uncertainty Surrounding Sign-In Requirements
The exchange between the concerned player and Sucker Punch Productions occurred on May 3, two days before Arrowhead Studios decided to reverse their policy of forcing PlayStation Network accounts on Steam users. At present, it remains unclear whether Ghost of Tsushima will follow suit, implementing this requirement only later in the game’s lifecycle, or if Sony will enforce the policy from the very beginning. The backlash primarily stems from the fact that this requirement was added after players had already invested significant time into the game. Additionally, the use of PSN accounts creates barriers for players in regions where access to PlayStation’s online services is limited. This issue arose with the international release of Helldivers 2, and it adds complexity to the already intricate situation surrounding account linking.
Request for Sony’s Official Statement
As of now, it remains uncertain whether Ghost of Tsushima will require players to sign into the PlayStation Network. We have reached out to Sony for comment on this matter and will update the article accordingly once we receive their response.

How to increase Wi-Fi speed in smartphone?
Smartphones now use more internet than computers or other devices, and that’s why good mobile internet speed is so important.
But many people face problems due to slow Wi-Fi speed in smartphones. Often Wi-Fi internet speed is so low that even a cool person gets irritated.
There are several reasons that you can know to improve Wi-Fi speed in your smartphone.
Incorrect positioning of the router
One of the main reasons for slow Wi-Fi internet speed in phones is the wrong position of the router. Placing it near walls and doors or on the floor affects Wi-Fi signals.
Similarly, if the router is placed in the farthest room, it also affects the internet speed. In such a case, change the position of the router and see how much Wi-Fi coverage has improved.
More users of a Wi-Fi network channel
If a Wi-Fi network channel is being used by many people, it also slows down the internet speed on the phone. Most routers select a specific channel for you, but if a neighboring wireless network is also using the same channel, the signal may be affected.
A good router will automatically try to change the channel in these situations, but older or cheaper routers are limited to preset channels. If you feel that the auto setting is not useful, go to the router’s administrator interface and change the channel yourself.
Interference from other devices
The most common wireless technology 802.11 (Wireless G) operates on the 2.4 GHz frequency, the same frequency used by many wireless products such as microwave ovens, resulting in interference between the device and the router.
To avoid this, if you are using a dual-band router, switch it to 2.4 to 5 GHz.
5 GHz will not only improve internet speed, but also reduce signal interference from other wireless networks and devices, as this frequency is not commonly used.
You are connected to a slow network
Another major cause of slow Wi-Fi is connecting the phone to a slow network. Streaming movies at home, downloading video games, or other updates can affect overall Internet speed. Internet speed is slow even on smartphones when connected to this network.
Your phone is slow
Slow internet speed on a phone is often a sign of a slow phone. Maybe the Wi-Fi connection speed is good, mobile data coverage is good but your phone is not able to support that speed.
In today’s era, apps and websites require more resources, so even a good internet speed won’t help much if the phone is slow, as the phone’s hardware takes more time to render a web page.
This problem is more common in old or cheap phones, but many times users of expensive and new phones also face it. Downloading too many apps also slows down the phone’s hardware.
