Real footage like from an action movie. A Peruvian police helicopter rescued a man from a burning building and took him to safety in the capital, Lima.
The footage shows how a rescuer descends with a rope from the helicopter and, after managing to hook the distressed man, the two successfully climb up, bTV reports.
The man was saved by Petty Officer Veronica Coagüila, who risked her life to pull him out of the air. The authorities thanked her for her brave act.
Veronica Coagüila has a decade of service in the police force and experience in rescue missions in challenging environments such as the Peruvian jungle. She reported that the rescue team arrived in the area in just three minutes.
“The alarm went off and all of us committed and alert staff gathered on the ramp to decide which team would go to the rescue. Subsequently, the aircraft was launched and we headed to the emergency area”, says Veronica Coagüila.
More than 10 fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames, local media reported.
The man is in good condition after the spectacular rescue.
The fire started in a wax warehouse. The building had rooms for storing candles and incense. The reasons for the accident are still being clarified.
The rescued citizen Juan Cardenas, who was trapped in the raging fire, thanked and congratulated the national police for the risky and successful operation.
“Thank you to the entire national police, to the doctors, to all the professionals. I was on the eighth – the top floor, there was no way out. I didn’t hear anything and then I saw the helicopter and they pulled me out,” he commented.
There were also other trapped people in the building who were promptly evacuated.

The mayor of Rijswijk (ZH) has put an end to an Eritrean liberation celebration in her city on May 25. The meeting is too risky, according to the municipality. In February there were riots around a meeting of Eritreans in The Hague.
The operator of a meeting center in Rijswijk had registered the event of the Federation of Eritrean Communities Netherlands (FEN) with the municipality. About 800 visitors were expected.
Mayor Sahin estimates the safety risk as “life-size” and therefore does not give permission. According to her, events with “such a high risk profile do not belong in a busy area like Rijswijk”.
Both the organizer and the operator had assessed the risk to the event as low. “But that is not how the municipality thinks about it,” said a Rijswijk spokesperson Broadcasting West.
Two groups
Within the Eritrean community there are tensions between two groups: opponents of the Eritrean regime and pro-government Eritreans. In recent years it has led to disturbances at a number of meetings in the Netherlands.
For example, several people were injured last year massive brawl at the Event Plaza conference center in Rijswijk, the same conference center where the meeting would take place next month.
On February 17 this year, a confrontation between two groups of Eritreans in The Hague escalated riot. Stones were thrown and (police) vehicles were set on fire. The mobile unit used tear gas to bring the situation under control. At least four officers were injured.

Biden: Iran wants to destroy Israel and we will not allow the Jewish state to be erased.. We will enter the war
A rocket attack was launched from Iraq targeting the US base in Syria. Citing two Iraqi security sources, Reuters news agency reported that at least five rockets were fired from the Iraqi city of Jumma targeting a US military base in northeastern Syria.
Sunday was the first attack on a US base in the region since Iran-backed groups killed three US soldiers in Jordan in early February.
Describing the latest attack, Iraqi security sources and a top military official told Reuters that a small truck with a rocket launcher was parked in the Syrian border town of Jummar.
The military official said, at that time, the warplane was in the sky. At the same time, the truck caught fire due to the rocket explosion. They said, “We cannot say without investigating whether the bomb was dropped on the truck by the US warplanes.”
Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia Al Sudani has returned home after completing his visit to the United States just a day ago. The attack happened a day after he entered the country. The Iraqi Prime Minister met with US President Joe Biden at the White House during his visit to the United States.
Meanwhile, an official, who did not want to be named, admitted that Iraq attacked a coalition base in Rumalin, Syria. However, he said no US military personnel were injured in the attack.
The official described the attack as a ‘failed rocket attack’. But it was not immediately clear whether the rockets failed to hit the base or were destroyed before reaching it. It is not clear whether the base was targeted or not.
In recent times, there has been a lot of tension in the region due to counter-attacks by Iran and Israel. Recently, Israel attacked Tehran as a response to Iran’s attack. However, Israel’s strikes have been relatively small-scale compared to Iran’s, and few drone strikes have been attempted.
US officials claim that Israel launched a missile attack on Iran. However, Iran says it has repelled a few drone attacks. Rejecting the missile attack on Iran, an official of the country said that the US media reports are not true.
Israel has counter-attacked in response to Iran’s attack. Last Saturday, Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israeli territory. Tel Aviv had already made it clear that Tehran’s attack would be retaliated against. Throughout the week, Israel’s Western allies, particularly the United States and Britain, had been urging the country’s government not to launch a major counterattack in response to the Iranian attack.
However, Iran’s attack has caused quite a stir. Because Tehran has carried out such an attack on the territory of Israel for the first time. But that too was actually a revenge. On April 1, Israel launched an airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.
