It was announced on the ministry’s social media account that the 34th meeting of the Unfair Price Assessment Committee has taken place.
9.4 million lira fine for unfair profits from bread sales
The Unfair Price Evaluation Board imposed a fine of 9 million 374 thousand 941 lira on 283 companies found to be selling bread above the price tariff.
A fine of 8 million 282 thousand 225 lira was imposed on 24 companies in vegetable and fruit markets for exorbitant price increases.
Two companies found to be stockpiling in the automobile market were fined 6 million 687 thousand 900 lira.
In total, fines amounting to 24 million 345 thousand 66 Turkish lira were imposed on 309 companies accused of exorbitant price increases and inventory levels.
In addition, the ministry emphasized that it will continue to take the necessary administrative measures against the perpetrators.
