A street naming was held for South Florida’s own rapper, Trick Daddy, over the weekend, per Wsvn.
The new sign was unveiled by Miami-Dade County Commissioner Kionne McGhee in front of the Gould’s Community Center in Southwest Miami-Dade Sunday morning (Oct 12).
The signage honoring the Miami legend is now known as Maurice trick Daddy Young Street.

In March of 2025 Commissioner Keon Hardemon submitted a proposal for several hip-hop artists to get streets named after their songs in Miami-Dade County. According to the Miami Herald, Commissioner Hardemon secured a 9-3 vote to rename 24 streets after songs from artists in the area.
A portion of Northwest 69th Terrace is called Trick Love the Kids Street, located in the Liberty City neighborhood of Miami. This street renaming was part of a broader effort to recognize local hip-hop artists through street names.
“We need to try something dramatic to really change the neighborhood,” he said. “Peopel in these communities take music very seriously.”
“This item will bring more culture to Miami,” Commissioner Marleine Bastein said before the vote backing Hardemon’s legislation on county streets north of the city. “We want a place that is always sizzling. That is vibrant and dynamic.”
