The rules governing Newsylist's automated trend detection, verification and publication.
What Newsylist publishes
Newsylist detects clusters of reporting from independent publishers. A public brief must be supported by at least four sources, contain substantive explanatory text, and pass a second verification step. Raw detections, failed checks and extractive-only records are excluded from sitemaps and marked noindex.
Automation and human responsibility
Software collects headlines, measures coverage velocity, groups related reporting and drafts concise briefs. Automation does not remove editorial responsibility: provider failures stop publication, source links remain visible, and the site operator can review, correct or withdraw any page.
Attribution and uncertainty
Briefs must stay within the collected source evidence. They may not invent facts, figures, quotations, names, causes or outcomes. Where reporting is incomplete or conflicting, the brief should say what is known and preserve the uncertainty.
Independence
Coverage rank is calculated from timing, source diversity and velocity. Advertising does not determine which stories appear, how they are ranked, or whether a brief passes verification.
Updates and corrections
Trend measurements update as coverage develops. Material factual errors are handled under the corrections policy. Questions about this policy may be sent to drbyos@gmail.com.
