However, it has become more difficult to find the optimal device for gaming or casual work… And that’s why reviews like this are necessary.

Almost four years ago, in early 2020, Danish brand SteelSeries introduced new gaming devices, including the SteelSeries Rival 3 mouse and the SteelSeries Apex 3 and Apex 5 keyboards. Despite the lower price than other devices from this manufacturer, they were intended to offer users the performance and innovation of other SteelSeries products. And in fact – the SteelSeries Rival 3 rodent cost only PLN 159 when it debuted, today we can buy it even for PLN 110. The wireless model, in turn (with the indication Wireless), currently costs not PLN 239, but PLN 180. So let’s see whether both solutions are still attractive for players of all stripes.
The SteelSeries Rival 3 and Rival 3 Wireless mice are designed to give gamers the performance and innovation found in the brand’s more expensive products. So let’s look at whether it is worth buying them today at the price of PLN 110 and PLN 180, respectively.
The Rival 3 Mouse is a mouse with the most important features that gamers need. Thanks to the use of durable polymers, Rival 3 is said to be exceptionally durable yet lightweight – the device weighs a reasonable 77 grams. Inside the device is a SteelSeries TrueMove Core optical sensor, developed in collaboration with the renowned PixArt. This sensor is exclusive to the Rival 3 model and has a maximum DPI of 8500. Rival 3 also has switches with a lifespan of 60 million clicks and internal memory that allows storing up to five DPI profiles.

The Rival 3 Wireless model, on the other hand, is (as the name suggests) a completely wireless solution that can operate over both 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The whole thing is said to offer very low delays and an operating time of up to 400 hours (we are of course talking about the energy saving mode). The TrueMove Air sensor, which is also known from the SteelSeries Rival 5 model (our test), is responsible for operating the mouse. The wireless device, like the wired model, is intended to guarantee extremely durable materials through the use of high-quality polymers. The wireless model also looks a little different. Its dimensions are identical to those of the Rival 3 with rear, but the backlighting is only on the scroll wheel.
