Description
Nebraska's OLDEST Black Newspaper established on July 9, 1938, by Mildred Brown. Located in a building, that is on the National Historic register: 2216 North 24th Street, in the heart of the Black Community. The newspaper is a program of the Mildred Brown Memorial Study Center, a 501(c)3 organization. We accept donations form our programs of Omaha Star, Archives of the Omaha Star, Higher Education Scholarships and Junior Journalism, which introduces the broad spectrum of journalism to high school students working with professionals in the field.
