Three hours after Apple launched iOS 17.3 and iPadOS 17.3, the company decided to withdraw the trials due to endless reboots. The update has been removed from Apple’s developer website, as has the ability to upgrade via Wi-Fi. One theory is that the bug activates when the user has activated physical tabs on the back of the phone.

Stay away from Beta 2 for now

The reason for some testers is the total crash. The new test version is very recent, so it is not fully known whether all models are affected. One thing is known: This rather serious error does not occur with everyone, but it can also occur with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. It has been confirmed. So, what’s up? Yes, the phone takes endless reboots and never gets into iOS 17.3. The new update included, among other things, a new Stop Thief trick.

Fortunately, there is a solution, but it requires connecting the phone to a computer with iTunes and downloading and installing iOS 17.3 Beta 1 IPSW. Select “Restore” when you are ready to load Beta 1. It’s not uncommon for this to happen with trials. You may remember the macOS Sonoma bug from this summer:

“The reason is that testers report major problems after installation: black screen. Users see the mouse cursor but nothing else. The problem affects MacBook 14″ M2, MacBook AIr with M1 and MacBook Pro with M1 Max. However, not everyone experiences the problem, and if this happens to you (whether you have updated or can’t do anything about it), it can A solution is to lie in “recovery mode” or simply reboot multiple times.”
