Wind gusts of almost 80 km/h (approx. 35 m/s) have already been recorded in places along the Welsh coast.

Scottish rail operator Network Rail Scotland has suspended all trains from 7pm due to the high likelihood of damage to railway lines. Earlier train journeys on Monday were also canceled – they will only resume after experts inspect the tracks and ensure the journey is safe.

More than 2,000 homes are already without power in Ireland, which was hit by the cyclone this afternoon, and photos of wind-damaged trees are being posted on social media. A red alert has been issued for Donegal, Hollway and Mayo and people have been advised to cancel all non-essential travel.

More than 80 flights were canceled at Dublin Airport and around a dozen were diverted to other airports.

Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, an important international hub, also began canceling flights earlier: the administration announced that 130 flights had already been canceled.

KLM, Schiphol’s largest user, reported the cancellation of 65 flights on Monday.

We remind you that on Friday in Spain the army was called to rescue 600 drivers stuck in the snow. In Germany, too, dozens of flights were canceled at the beginning of the week due to the freezing rain, and in some places there were kilometer-long traffic jams.
